It's prog rock in the style of Transatlantic or Spocks Beard (to me at least) done by Kurt Vanderhoof (sp?) of Metal Church. The first couple of listens have been pretty cool. One of Preston or Steve is a professed fan, but I don't remember which. It's too bad WMMR's normal, non-bumper playlist had the life sucked out of it years ago... I rather enjoyed it. Gonna have to get me some. It would be interesting to see them pull of much of their music > in such a small setting. I've been wondering how they fit all 10 people on the stage in smaller venues like BB King's in NYC, and Jaxx in Va. They must manage somehow, as reports from the road have been uniformly positive. I saw them at ProgPower USA this past Saturday -- in fact, I sponsored them for the festival, which triggered this first US tour for them -- and they were astonishing. I was expecting a good show, but I thought the usually-jaded ProgPower audience would have a "meh" attitude for them, with perhaps 5-600 people in the venue and a mediocre response. I was totally wrong. They had one of the best ProgPower audience responses in recent memory, and judging from the ProgPower Forum, they are the surprise hit of the festival. Don't miss their show; it really is something to see! > I was browsing the music shelves the other day > and came across last year's release, double album _Lemuria_ and _Sirius > B_. I think it is their best stuff since _Theli_. Really, really good. They've been playing a number of songs from both new CDs, too, on tour, as well as older 'classics' and at least one ooold death-metally song typically per set. If you're lucky, you might get a cool 'extra' surprise encore. They've been playing a Mercyful Fate or Motorhead cover at some gigs when time and audience allowed. \m/ -- +----------- Paul W.
