Not even close. That honor surely goes to either William Shatner's or Leonard Nimoy's solo album, depending on your preferences. They are SO bad they're, ummmm....entertaining...in an "Officer, could you pull that body a bit closer so we can see it? We've never seen a human body shaped in quite that manner" sort of way. :) -- +----------- Paul W. The title track is fantastic and should have got more airplay and of course there's "Rainbow in the Dark." The other tracks have faded a bit in my mind -- it's been a while -- but it was a fun, straight-ahead, rock-n-roll CD. Good stuff. The other tracks have faded a bit in my mind -- it's been a > while -- but it was a fun, straight-ahead, rock-n-roll CD. Good stuff. Yeah. I tried not to like it when Chris (my colleague) played it to me, but it ain't the worst. There is a scream in Stand Up And Shout that is one of my favourite rock screams ever. Along with Robert Plant in How Many More Times, Roger Daltrey in some Who song that escapes me, and funnily enough, James "Cheese" La Brie in Octavarium. Near the end of the song. It's amazing that a human being can make that noise. (Good amazing, that is.) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Jun 2005 12:56:22 +0100 From: "Douglas Gray" To: Subject: London gigs - question to the 2 Grahams and Anthony Message-ID: Just wondering where you guys booked tickets from? I went in to Virgin today and they said Ticket&*$tard weren't selling until this afternoon. However through the Hammy Apollo's site I was directed to wayahead.com where tickets were on sale, however you had no way of knowing where your seats were going to be until after you've bought them which is a bit crap. At least with Ticket...... you can get a selection (if memory serves correctly) Am I right in remembering when they played in January 2004 at the Apollo is was standing downstairs and seating upstairs? Wondering why it's all seated this time? Also, what do you guys think of the ticket price? Got second row of the stalls for the Monday. For the Tuesday, there are three of us. Two could have gotten front row, but we're back in row J, which isn't bad at all. We could have also had front row of the circle, which is a decision that I might live to regret, but I forget how far back the circle is there. I go to relatively few gigs these days so the ticket price isn't that important. I'd probably pay #80 for a ticket. But I would never buy one of those "premium" packages. Talk about soulless and commercial. I can't believe anyone buys them. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Jun 2005 23:24:55 +1000 From: "Niall Connaughton" To: Subject: RE: London gigs - question to the 2 Grahams and Anthony Message-ID: How big is this venue? Note the Australian email address ;P It's a theatre, bigger than a club, smaller than a stadium, and not sold out afaik. http://www.carlinglive.com/venue_content/carling_hammersmith_apolo.html http://www.carlinglive.com/images/venues/hammersmithapollo_seats2.gif It's one of the great rock venues, formerly known as the Hammersmith Odeon. If you have the Rush album Different Stages, the bonus disc concert was recorded there, and there is also artwork of the front of the building in the CD case. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Jun 2005 00:14:00 +1000 From: "Niall Connaughton" To: Subject: RE: London gigs - question to the 2 Grahams and Anthony Message-ID: Thanks for the info. Are there likely to be other shows in London in this tour, or will this be it? Being Australian, I have no idea what is typical from a Dream Theater tour (except they typically don't come here :P). It's a bit hard to organise all this from here, when everything's still up in the air. I wouldn't mind seeing one of these classic album shows, though...
