I like the songs. I like, based on an interview I read, that DT is working with a shorter form of song writing. But, why, again, is Jordan a nonentity in this band? Why is he mixed so damn low? IN fact, in the second song, Panic attack, both keyboard and guitar solos, on my system, are so low that they can't be heard? Can't DT get the person who mixed FII or 6 degrees or Scenes from a memory to mix this again? Hell, get the guys who mixed Awake. You have one of the best keyboardists in the world in your band and you bury him in the mix on two consecutive albums? Granted, I only heard radio edits and maybe that was done to conform to radio's insane ideas of what is good, but I really do hope this is not a reflection of the whole album. I like the songs, really I do. I just want to hear Jordan and what he is playing along with everybody else. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 May 2005 13:30:43 -0400 From: "Rob P" To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: BT & Octavarium Message-ID: I "happened" upon the 2 edits myself. Very obviously real since the lyrics give it away for one thing. My only comment is that I like both songs VASTLY better than any song on the last CD. Of course my displeasure with ToT is well documented. Both songs are excellent and I am now looking forward to the album rather than being as worried as I was before hearing them.
