I'm not sure how much he was involved in the actual music writing, but I'm sure he came up with at least someo of the vocal melodies, as well as directing Brian Wherry and Matt Guillory in what he was looking for (wanting to change) when they would submit demos to him. For the record, while James previously never helped with the song writing, he did sit in on the writing sessions for ToT (altho he still didn't contribute) and he also did sit in on the writing/recording sessions for Octavian and from what I've heard, he also did contribute, altho I doubt that it was all that much, at least in comparison to the other 4 guys.
