I used to play that back in college, in a campaign that stretched to well over a year. :) Speaking of travelling, I was up in the NY/NJ area last weekend for an SF convention, and it just so happened that Ozric Tentacles -- of whom Mike Portnoy is a fan, as well as other metal muzos like Opeth, etc. -- were playing NYC at the Bowery Ballroom. Great timing, since they weren't playing close to Atlanta on this tour.... So I skipped out of the con on Saturday night (in the middle of appearing on a world-building panel discussion) and headed over to see 'em. :) It was a good show although fraught with some technical and sound problems. Pics are posted at http://jet13.hasweb.com/~paulcas/otbowery/ and include some early shots of opening band Lotus from Philly, who were an excellent choice to open. After chatting with Ed Wynne and his wife Brandi after the show, I decided to see them again in Charlotte NC on Tuesday at the Neighborhood Theatre, and it more than made up for the technical problems in NYC. Excellent show, really cool venue and area, and better pics: http://jet13.hasweb.com/~paulcas/otcharlt/ I got a bit more daring on not using the flash (my camera is old and doesn't handle low-light too well), but this time the results were pretty good. They'll be playing a few more dates in the States before playing Baja Prog and a few weird shows (Costa Rica? Jamaica?) and then possibly returning for a few US dates afterwards. Of course, they're not metal (although during some songs it's kinda hard to tell :)), but if you like more progressive/diverse sounds, I highly recommend their show. Nice people too...even though 3/5 of the band is now from North America. :) -- +----------- Paul W. I googled 'Traveller' to figure out what the album was about. ("Something about spores and dog-human hybrids...") Most of the pages I found referred to it as G.U.R.P.S. Traveller. So G.U.R.P.S. bought the rights to the old game?
