I thought the first Mullmuzzler was great, the second was just OK. I don't have Frameshift, although I've heard mixed opinions on it (more positive). On another solo-related note, I went to order the new JP album and it's SOLD OUT! Good for him that it's more popular than expected, but sucks for everyone else! It's only been out like 2 weeks right? And it's sold out already? Poor. I can't even get on a waiting list for it. "Check back after 4/1" Jeez! Nothing like making it hard for people to give you their money. Oh well, at least he finally made it! Maybe next time it can be on a real label. And on a completely separate note, what is everyone's opinion on post-Fish Marillion? I have about 5 albums from that era and can think of about 5 songs I like. Well, that is excluding the Anoraknophobia album. Anorak I actually enjoy. How is Marbles? How is SB Octane? Wasn't a fan of FE..... ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Mar 2005 17:48:47 -0600 From: email_address_removed To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Octavarium - "it's more diverse" Message-ID: There's an article on DT at Billboard.com - not sure if will be published in the magazine. Here, Petrucci says it will be more diverse than Train of Thought. Here's a clip and the link... Asked how "Octavarium" differs from its predecessor, "Train of Thought," Petrucci explains, "The album before this we wrote in the rehearsal period, constructed all the songs and then went into the studio and recorded them. The style from song to song was pretty consistent; that album was pretty dark and heavy and very riffy, sort of metal [or] progressive metal-sounding. This one we wrote in the studio, and I think that stylistically from song to song it's more diverse." http://www.billboard.com/bb/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000847684 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Mar 2005 18:51:14 -0500 From: Mike Shetzer To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: The Brie and the Petrucci Message-ID: <001401c53003$32fb1cc0$9b00a8c0@mizz> > And on a completely separate note, what is everyone's opinion on > post-Fish Marillion? I actually really like the Post fish period, but gasp... I haven't heard any Fish era Marillion. I have Afraid of Sunlight, This Strange Engine (my fave), Marillion.com (second fave), Anorak (hasn't grown on me yet) and Marbles (ditto). ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Mar 2005 16:11:42 -0800 From: "Dr. Mosh" To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: pimping an LA gig Message-ID: <20050324001142.GA2015@zero> Hope to see some jammers out there, I'll be the guy with the big goatee... as usual... -The Doc 0.
