After many, many listens, it dawned on me that while super fast, the solos DO have a load of emotion and melodicness to them. Not as much as one that is slowed down and easier to digest, but they (at least most of them) do have a certain taste of melodicness and great tone that I love JP for. Here's hoping also for more of JR's throaty, raspy lead sound. I like that somewhat better (at least for the heavy songs) than his totally amusing toy keyboard lead sound of the past. Reminds me a bit of Derek actually. --Boundary_(ID_q9WmxW0sT6RDcUEbm0KMww) ---YTSEJAM FILTER: Rest of message skipped because of attachment ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2005 18:11:00 -0500 From: "Damon Fibraio" To: Subject: RE: new DT Message-ID: Here's hoping also for more of JR's throaty, raspy lead sound. His old lead is not a toy keyboard sound to me. I think that lead is actually pretty cool. My only complaint is that it was his only lead sound for a while. Now that he has a few to choose from, I am not so sick of it. --Boundary_(ID_q9WmxW0sT6RDcUEbm0KMww) ---YTSEJAM FILTER: Rest of message skipped because of attachment ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2005 19:26:18 -0500 From: Mike Shetzer To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: new DT Message-ID: <001e01c51df5$49b37d60$9b00a8c0@MIKE> --Boundary_(ID_IKCtba7q+Na5dE/83ERcMQ) Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT I like it too, it is amusing, I just like the new one better. I hope he's a little more prominent in the upcoming album, as he didn't have much of a job in the last one (understandably so). --Boundary_(ID_IKCtba7q+Na5dE/83ERcMQ) ---YTSEJAM FILTER: Rest of message skipped because of attachment ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2005 21:00:20 -0500 From: Dave Schott To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: new DT Message-ID: I'd like to hear more from JMyung as well. -Dave Schott (ebMusicMan84) email_address_removed http://www.gruntville1337.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2005 22:35:35 -0800 From: Allroundniceguy To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: New DT Message-ID: Hmmm... Yeah I was kind of taken aback by that news, too. I hadn't heard anyhting about a new DT release nor was much circulating around cyberspace about that. Perhaps there's some sort of timewarp or wormhole that indicates that information is from the not to distant future? I just hope it's not a 3-CD release of their pre-infant material in the womb, imagine the resampling going on there...
