Message-ID: Interesting thread you reminded me I wanted to inquire about Alexis! Anyone here have a complete, or relatively complete, list of all the *original* songs Dream Theater has issued as special gifts to their fan club and/or released as b-sides over the years? I"d be interested to see what we can come up with. As of right now, the only one's I'm familiar with on a personal level (read: in possession of) are: EVE, FOREVER, RAISE THE KNIFE... It's not available for the general public. If you're lucky--and subversive--you can probably find somebody who might be willing to make you a copy, but in general the fans understand that this is something that isn't meant to be distributed like a bootleg. So basically, sorry, you're out of luck. *Andrew Coutermarsh* http://www.acvox.com/ /*andrew* at *acvox* dot *com*/ Jonathan Stonum wrote: > Hey, my name is Scott and I'm a huge DT fan from STL. >I'm >wondering about this =93cleaning out the closet=94 album and I'm >thinking I've >missed something is it possible to get a copy? Don't know forever... but here's a bunch I came across online. To Live Forever Speak To Me Eve Cover My Eyes Freeport Jam Lost Without You Long Island Expressway Raise The Knife You Or Me Don't Look Past Me Where Are You Now This also begs the question (which I posted a few weeks ago) as to why since FII we've seen no b-sides or rarities or demos or anything, IMHO, interesting as fanclub / gift CD material. :( ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Feb 2005 22:55:33 +1100 From: "Niall Connaughton" To: Subject: RE: Speaking of Dream Theater b-sides... As an aside, on the political/moral side of things, the show (24) seems to be consistently pushing the value of torture. Do the writers have an agenda? Of course it is fictional entertainment, but people tend to use fiction to push real world points. Is Alan Dershowitz a contributor? (in case you weren't up on Alan, he is a "high-profile" media lawyer who claims to be a civil libertarian. After 9/11, he wrote a book advocating legal torture under "time constrained" situations like the ones always portrayed on 24. The book was called "Why Terrorism Works"). One might argue that these "imminent event" scenarios are only fiction, and that they would never occur in real life. Whoops, off topic. Back onto music, has anyone heard "NATURAL SCIENCE - This Side Of Paradise"? From their descriptions, they sound like they may be good. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
