First experienced when buying LTE2 and being unable to read tracks 5 and up unless I started at a track below and fast forwarded or let it play through. Even with a lens clean, still no luck... gotta get a new one. Have you tried a lens cleaner? Are the CDs scratched at all? If they're commercial discs, it seems unlikely that so many players can't read it... have you found any players that do? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brian Hansen" To: "Multiple recipients of list" Sent: Wednesday, January 19, 2005 5:43 PM Subject: portnoy's question...80 min cds > > MP recently had a survey about cd length, and whether > they should be 60 or 80 minutes. I guess the amount of compression sometimes makes it harder for the laser to read the information correctly... One example of a cd with that problem is Neal Morse's Testimony disc 1. I don't recall having that problem with One. By the way, I read the other day that Petrucci's solo album is finally going to be released this year. Woohooooo!!! Glad to see some of his G3 played tunes will be on there in full force. Too bad it doesn't say who else is playing on it, or a more concrete release date, or track times. Predictions for musicians who will play with him? I'd say MP will be playing with him on drums, that seems to be the cycle. Maybe Bozzio or Rod Morgenstein... Bass would be trickier. Billy Sheehan, Tony Levin, even Myung are all possibilities. It'd be nice to have varying musicians. ------------------------------ End of YTSEJAM Digest 7071 ************************** === Contributions to ytsejam: ytsejam@torchsong.com === === Send requests to: ytsejam-request@torchsong.com === === More information at: http://www.dreamt.org/local/ytsejam.php === === Brought by the ghost of ytsejam@arastar.coms past === === Reach the owner of this list at: ytsejam-owner@torchsong.com ===
