They have a system called Red Dot that has the samples downloaded for ANY CD in their database that you can pull up either by scanning a cd or looking it up on the screen so you don't have to have the cd in hand to listen to it. > of subject: i don't want to tell any one where to buy a cd, but at media > play > they have these listening stations where you can take any disc in the > store, > scan it and listen to about 30 seconds of all/most of the tracks. i know, > just > like cd now and all of those on-line places, but now you don't have to > make > mental notes of who to look up when you get home to see if it's worth the > price > of your hard earned dollar. > ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 26 Dec 2004 00:15:34 -0200 From: "Alexandro Talamini" To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: X'Mas CD Message-ID: Does anyone already got the X'Mas Fan Club CD?? Message-ID: -------------------------------1104097248 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" If anyone is looking for some books to read, here are some of my favorites. A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole Ignatius J. Reilly is a 30-year-old Medievalist whose physique is dwarfed by his comic rants and ravings of the modern age. It starts with Ignatius almost being arrested for vagrancy, and does not let up. The subplots that are woven somehow all manage to get tied up beautifully. Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa-Puffs: A Low-Culture Manifesto by Chuck Klosterman A collection of essays on a vast array of topics such as the Sims, a season-by-season analysis of MTV's Real World, the cultural importance of Saved by the Bell, how The Empire Strikes Back shaped such movies as Singles and Reality Bites, which film best answers the question, "What is reality," along with a discussion on porn. A funny and insightful read. His earlier book on 80s metal, Fargo Rock City, is equally good. On the Road by Jack Kerouac A book more about the use of language than of any plot motives. Vivid descriptions of America in the 1940s as the characters search for the American Dream. Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser A detailed and thorough look at the fast food industry. Every facet and component of the industry is examined from the flavors manufactured in New Jersey, the slaughterhouses dotting the Central Plains, the potatoes grown in Idaho, and how all these components impact not just consumers but employees on a global scale. The Harry Potter books by J. K. Rowling While the first two books are children's books, the third book is where the Harry Potter universe comes into its own. Fantastic scenes and images abound as the forces of Good prepare for their showdown versus Lord Voldemort. There is a sense of wonder coupled with a foreboding darkness as the books move on. Entertaining reads that can be enjoyed time and time again. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho A simple story with profound themes. About a shepherd and his quest to fulfill his dreams. -------------------------------1104097248 ---YTSEJAM FILTER: Rest of message skipped because of attachment ------------------------------ End of YTSEJAM Digest 7059 ************************** === Contributions to ytsejam: ytsejam@torchsong.com === === Send requests to: ytsejam-request@torchsong.com === === More information at: http://www.dreamt.org/local/ytsejam.php === === Brought by the ghost of ytsejam@arastar.coms past === === Reach the owner of this list at: ytsejam-owner@torchsong.com ===
