I have been reading the Brian Herbert books, that fill in the past (of the original Dune books by Frank Herbert). They are fairly entertaining, but not quite up to the caliber of the orignal Frank Herbert books. They are more "soap opera serial" stories, but I would recommend them to old Dune fans... __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! I read the three prelude books, they were ok. Then I read the first in the Butlerian Jihad series. What a steaming pile of... well, my mother always told me if I didn't have anything nice to say... I haven't picked up the later books from that series. I finished reading the Robin Hobb books a little while ago. Those books are great. Fantasy without the pixies, elves, dwarves, bearded magicians casting fireballs, etc. I don't like much fantasy, so these books were surprisingly good.
