That seems ironic for progressive music. I would think that thinking outside the box and exposing oneself to something new that doesn't sound like everyone else would be rather the point. Anyhoo...I enjoyed the MFFT shows that I was able to catch. :-) - Chris ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Nov 2004 10:14:19 -0500 From: "Damon Fibraio" To: Subject: RE: New Jersey Bands Message-ID: Ahh, this guy is too nice. I pay him well, don't I? Yes, Money for the toll is awesome and if any of you are in the NJ NY PA area, go check them out and you'll probably see my band riding their coat tails. -----Original Message----- From: ytsejam@torchsong.com [mailto:ytsejam@torchsong.com] On Behalf Of email_address_removed Sent: Sunday, November 14, 2004 1:27 PM To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: Re: New Jersey Bands -------------------------------1100456507 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" On Sat, 13 Nov 2004, Damon Fibraio wrote: > A decent prog scene in the PA/NJ area? The problem with the progressive scene for the most part is this...... If you're doing covers (i.e. - you) MOST people expect what THEY feel is a hit. If you're doing originals, MOST people expect you to sound EXACTLY like your influences. I only say most people, because I do see a nice crowd for Money For The Toll and Visions (Damon's awesome band). It could just be bigger if people would think outside the box every now and then and expose themselves to something new that doesn't sound exactly like everything else. And....as for Visions.......they do a very nice selection of Dream Theater as well! -------------------------------1100456507 ---YTSEJAM FILTER: Rest of message skipped because of attachment ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Nov 2004 14:08:50 -0800 From: "Trevor Hoit" To: Subject: eternity x Message-ID: <005f01c4cb5f$b01def60$message_id_removed> >I heard from my brother who followed Eternity X more closely than I, >that they had recorded another album after the Edge. Another Eternity had rights to that band name. They decided to add an X. I heard that when they went to get the rights to Eternity X, the individual at the copyrights office made some slam about Generation X, which was not their intention with adding the X. ><-----Original Message-----> >From: Trevor Hoit >Sent: 11/15/2004 4:24:41 PM >To: ytsejam@torchsong.com >Subject: Re: eternity x > > > >They had one before "The Edge" called "Mind Games" under the name >"Eternity".
