I'm still lurking around. This seems to be the year for instrumentals for me. I've been enjoying Planet X (thanks for the suggestion) but I've also been listening to LTE a lot. Also managed to covert a few people with LTE. They have been in the cd stacker in the car for a couple of months now, much to my wife's chagrin because she can either listen to these or kids cds like Bob the Builder or Sesame Street etc. I must admit I've been too lazy to pick up the cds Eric suggested (Fates & Spocks) with the exception of A Pleasant Shade of Gray, but I've only heard it 2 times (Note: heard, not listened. I need more ME time, which is a bit hard to come by lately, to really listen to this cd). An old friend of mine who I hadn't seen in ages also gave me a heap of cds to check out. His taste in music is way off tangent though. Some of it's OK but there's some weird shit there in the alternative scene. Silver Jews, Lift to Experience, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, Blue Ruin, Morphine, the Warlocks. I've been giving it a chance for his sake but.......... nah, I only like the Silver Jews for their amusing lyrics. George. At 08:28 PM 19/09/2004 -0700, you wrote: >This reminds me. Interesting -----Original Message----- From: Matt Rose [mailto:email_address_removed While I think that the idea of a DT lossless hub is a great idea, all you really need to do is join this Rush hub that I belong to. You have to have some Rush (or download some right away) to stay on the hub, but most of the people there have DT and tons of it, all lossless. If you join, just be aware that NO MP3s are allowed and NO commercial material either. Otherwise, you'll be able to get just about ANY DT that you want and tons of other bands as well. The address for the hub is server.tldsystems.com. It requires registration and a password to log on to it. You can register for it at http://rush.daneck.com/hubreg/ Follow the rules on there and you'll have a great time downloading to your heart's content. TONS of DT. We kinda joke on there that it's become the unofficial DT hub. Lots of other prog music as well. Enjoy! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Sep 2004 10:05:27 -0500 From: "Souter, Jan-Michael" Subject: RE: InsideOut Upcoming Message-ID: Damn......... Looks like before Christmastime, I'll be collecting some new, hopefully great tunes! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Sep 2004 13:36:00 -0700 (PDT) From: Brian Hansen To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Into Eternity Message-ID: I heard a song from "Into Eternity" the other day. They blend death metal and prog metal together better than any band I have heard. They go from one to the other in the same song. Highly recommended. I have the latest 2 releases (that may be all they have). I cannot think of the titles right now. Into Eternity's a good band. Either of their two most recent discs, 'Buried In Oblivion' and 'Dead or Dreaming,' is a decent starting point. Neither is significantly better than the other and the style hasn't changed much in the 2 years separating them. Both albums are on Century Media and should be pretty easy to find. I got my discs for $10 a piece - I think DoD came from Dark Symphonies and BIO from Willowtip. Unfortunately, I don't know much about them, as it was a band I didn't get in to prior to the show, though I sat through the set. Lots of energy, and most of the band sings.
