To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: New FATES Message-ID: Now, here's my take on the track: A few more thoughts on "A Simple Human" (let's not get into debate wether it's about Bush or not, heh heh). UH... it's a real good song, though NOT as immediately impactful as say, "One" was. Whereas "One" was a 9 out of 10 and one of the best Fates songs ever, I'd have to give "Simple Human" a 7.5 or 8 out of 10. I really like the guitar sound and the electronics, as I mentioned, are appropriate. The shifting time signature is nice, as well as slightly unobtrusive, which I like, unlike DT, it's not a virtuosic and indulgent use of off-time rhythm. One qualm, no guitar solo! Though, don't get me wrong, it doesn't sound like there should or needs to be one. One pro/ con, depending on your outlook, the song is exactly 4 minutes long. Atleast we know this isn't the traditional EPIC FW tune from "FWX", lol. All in in, bring on the whole CD! Peace, y'all.
