Was curious if anyone else picked up the new Flower Kings and or Theshold albums? FK keep on coming up with magical music - unreal! And adding Daniel G. from POS makes them even more versatile. His voice just seems to fit in (maybe it's a Swedish thing). As for the new Threshold...no surprises - they kind of stick to their formula. It's unpolished, but for what it's worth: http://stringtension.com/mymusic.html I play guitar, bass, and programmed the drums. Paul Evans: Your song rocks! It also has a very professional sound which my song "The Green Room Groove" lacks. I listened to yours after mine and it definitely seems to have more "space" - do you think it's just a matter of separating the instruments to different parts of the stereo spectrum, or is there another technique you are using? I'm just using a single SM57 mic in front of the amp at the moment. The drumkit from hell sounds GREAT. I recently went through an exercise of trying to get better drum sounds than my crappy soundcard provides. I did manage to find some pretty good samples online and assemble a virtual drumkit in a format my soundcard can understand (and it's what you hear in the song). But I am very tempted to upgrade to DFH after hearing your song. I'm also using an older version of Cakewalk, so I'd have to upgrade to Sonar to do so. cheers, -Neil. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Aug 2004 10:17:09 -0400 From: Mike Shetzer To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: Flower Kings & Threshold Message-ID: <001601c48aae$355ac420$9b00a8c0@mizz> --Boundary_(ID_26+kdOJcbtzfq/CdD1NTVw) Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT I really enjoy the new TFK, but I haven't had much free time lately, so I've only given it two spins. I hope it grows on me. Their earlier 2CD UtF was really good, but I found it was lacking something... Haven't gotten a chance to jump to the new Threshold, but I liked their last few releases. ----- Original Message ----- From: Bruce Duesterhoeft To: Multiple recipients of list Sent: Wednesday, August 25, 2004 8:43 AM Subject: Flower Kings & Threshold Yo Jam, Very little talk going on here....everyone must be on vacation. LOL, I don't know what happened to my original post after submitting it, but it definitely needed at least a decoder ring to decipher.

Thanks for the info, and keep up the good work. I really like the sound bytes I have heard at your web page. They definitely remind me of other great guitar albums like Steve Vai's "Passion and Warfare", and the like.
