All I can say about the Hard-Drive is don't waste the extra money on >the 8MB cache versus the 2MB cache. It's an Occidental Binary. Name >obfuscated so I don't get sued. Wow. Not a good time for Occidental Binary. My 6 month old 120Gb w/8Mb cache just crapped too. I'm afraid I may have lost several thousand MP3 files. (Yeah, I know, I should have backed them up. (I did, but it's been months, and I've done a lot of cleanup).) Anyone know what will happen when I plug my iPod in for the first time? I don't want my empty HD library overwriting my iPod songs, and I can't remember where to set the "who overwrites whom" switch. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Jul 2004 02:40:05 -0400 From: "Paul W. I'll be staying there till Sunday the 1st, and plan to meet Mr Cashman at the venue. Shucks, you're leaving the day Rush is playing here, I think. > Anyone else seeing the tentacles or have seen them yet? Maybe not......but they SHOULD. :) It truly surprises me how many metal muzos are into the Ozrics. DT's Mike Portnoy has been a fan for years (I've mentioned that here before), but Mike has an excellent ear and comes partly from a progressive background.... Harder to rationalize, but still really cool, is the fact that Brian Fair from Shadow's Fall and Devin Townsend are fans....as well as Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth. Mikael -is- a big prog fan (his favorite band is Camel), so he obviously has a good ear already for good/different/challenging music, but I was floored when his bandmate Peter Lindgren told me he was at least as much a fan as Mikael. "You should have given those Ozrics CDs to ME!" :) Ozrics tourdates are posted at http://www.pollstar.com -- as far as I know they are all still accurate. First tour of the States in four years and it's already in progress. Y'all check 'em out, if you can. They're the best band that no-one's ever heard. :) -- +--- Paul W.
