Adagio quickly rose to my third favorite band after buying their first CD, "Sanctus Ignis". They are a Progressive Neo-Classical metal group much in the style of Symphony X, my second favorite band :)) Founder and guitarist, Stephan Forte, has made clear that Michael Romeo of Symphony X is one of his leading influences, along with classical music. Stephan's arrangements and compositions are outstanding. Nat, you'll enjoy "Sanctus Ignis" a great deal. Highly recommended when you have the chance to buy it as well. Please be sure to post to let us know how you like that CD as well ! JM -----Original Message----- From: email_address_removed [mailto:email_address_removed Hi every body can someone give me some info about a band called Adagio I just pick up there new CD (at least I think its new) Underworld. I figure if there's a go-to place for info on symphonic rock, the jam acts as a fair substitute. ;) D/J _________________________________________________________________ Stop worrying about overloading your inbox - get MSN Hotmail Extra Storage! http://join.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200362ave/direct/01/ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 May 2004 18:21:06 -0400 From: "Rick Rosinski" To: Subject: Re: Superior live album Message-ID: <0a1801c4436f$cfa2cb80$6701a8c0@amd1> > Coming soon... > > " "Ultra live" will contain 21 songs on 2 CD's which have been recorded in > various locations. They have had news updates for almost a year now on the live album, and I'm not sure how close it really is. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 May 2004 09:05:12 +1000 From: "Karyn Hamilton" To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: Blind earth Message-ID: >Date: Tue, 25 May 2004 11:50:47 -0500 (CDT) >From: Brian Hayden > >Nightfall in Middle Earth is perfectly indicative of what an unoriginal, >grating, train wreck of a band BG are. Have you never raised your beerstein and had a drunken singsong to 'Into the Storm' or an oldie like 'Valhalla'? ..Ok, I haven't either. But only because I don't drink beer, godsdammit. ;-) BG is cheesy - not original or challenging, but they're so much fun. They're almost as good as Manowar for silly sing-alongs. And Hansi! Oh that voice! *worship*worship* :D (also obviously IMO) >Date: Tue, 25 May 2004 16:04:42 -0500 >From: "Souter, Jan-Michael" > >uggggghh I was listening to Pain of Salvation's CD "125" and it's >absolutely HORRID, in my own personal opinion. It sounded awful in that major key and they made it waaaayyy too happy for what is, basically, a very angry song. I'm all for musical interpretation, but yuck. I say that there has to be a font, because almost all other fonts that are on Rush covers are specific fonts. For instance: Fly By Night - Umbra or BD Shadow Caress of Steel - Souvenir (altho warped) 2112 - Clarendon A Farewell To Kings - Libra BT Archives/Moving Pictures/Chronicle/Different Stages - Palatino Permanent Waves - Spire Exit...Stage Left - Benguiat-Bold / Benguiat-Light Grace Under Pressure - Busorama Medium BT / Busorama Power Windows (Title) - Futura Bold Power Windows (Rush) - Antique Olive Nord Presto - Caslon Open Face counterparts - Monotype Corsiva So...anybody know the font on the S/T album? ;-) Scott ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 May 2004 20:43:18 +1000 From: "Niall Connaughton" To: Subject: RE: Blind earth Message-ID: Pfft, it's awesome, and the jam on the end of it works well.
