To distinguish him from all the other famous Yngwie Malmsteens? Anyway I've been listening to this online radio station '4U-Rock n Metal' lately. It features many bands mentioned on this list. Names like Fates and Spock's Beard were new to me but I've heard some of their music and now I want more. What would be good albums to start off with from these two bands? PS. Thanks Mike. Moonbabies rocks. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 May 2004 02:15:21 -0400 From: Mike Shetzer To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: Malmsteen an the Cookie Monster Message-ID: <001401c43656$2cdc29d0$9b00a8c0@mizz> --Boundary_(ID_Ugf4LGBJBSAIqGOtebzl4w) Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT You got the latest PX cd? Great purchase indeed... Is On The Virg on the way? Re Fates and SB... Fates have been around for some time and have gone through some lineup changes. My fave albums are A Pleasant Shade of Grey and Disconnected. Earlier stuff is more classic metal but less interesting to me... SB has a lot of albums to choose from, and the styles vary. V is a great album, but so is Kindness of Strangers and Beware of Darkness. Latest album with Neal Morse Snow is a great concept, but doesnt have much heaviness to it, and latest album since the departure of NM Feel Euphoria is pretty good. Debut album The Light is good as well, and the only one I'm missing is Day For Night. When in doubt, get all of em if you've got the cash! :D ----- Original Message ----- From: George Papadopetros To: Multiple recipients of list Sent: Monday, May 10, 2004 12:26 AM Subject: Re: Malmsteen an the Cookie Monster > Then a friend turned me on to Yngwie. Klindt. Not because there are crowds of Todd Klindt's around, but because my middle name was my grandfather's name. tk -----Original Message----- From: ytsejam@torchsong.com [mailto:ytsejam@torchsong.com] On Behalf Of George Papadopetros Sent: Sunday, May 09, 2004 11:26 PM To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: Re: Malmsteen an the Cookie Monster > Then a friend turned me on to Yngwie. Do you like the not so heavy and humorous? V is probably one of their more heavy albums, and Kindness or Beware are less heavy. Snow is less heavy and less humorous, a focus more on the concept and the themes. Their latest Feel Euphoria hasn't grown on me enough to describe in the terms I've just given... ----- Original Message ----- From: George Papadopetros To: Multiple recipients of list Sent: Monday, May 10, 2004 6:22 PM Subject: Re: Malmsteen an the Cookie Monster > > >You got the latest PX cd?
