It be truth. And they are just session members: Megadeth is even more Mustaine than usual these days. http://www.roadrun.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=18719 >>> As previously reported, Mustaine is currently collaborating with one-time MEGADETH guitarist Chris Poland on new MEGADETH material which he plans to release later in the year through the Sanctuary label. Bassist Jimmy Sloas and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta have also contributed to the album, which Mustaine expects to have done by the end of March. >>> http://www.chrispoland.com/ >>> The rumors are true - CP recorded guitar solos for an upcoming Megadeth release. The recordings were done in about two and a half days in Arizona two weeks ago. It's aggressive stuff, with great sounds. It felt to us much in the "Rust in Peace"/"Youthanasia" vibe. >>> Brian [NP...E.S.T. - Strange Place For Snow] ============================================= WB Henderson email_address_removed ============================================= ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 May 2004 12:43:37 +1000 From: "Niall Connaughton" To: Subject: RE: Sorry!!!! A friend gave me a tape of Yngwie J. Malmsteen's rising force, and that pretty much changed my musical tastes towards guitar music. Then a different friend (co-worker) gave me a tape of DT's Images & Words, and that DID change my entire musical life. Cool parallel. jm -----Original Message----- From: Paul Evans [mailto:email_address_removed > >>Ytsejam started as email_address_removed after the Los Angeles Troubador > >>concert, so my guess is that it started in November 1992 > >Holy shit...I was at that Troub show! Just as with most styles of music, death-metal and black-metal are progressing rapidly. *I* think the point is really that growly vocals don't show a lot of musicianship. Sure, some people growl better than others, just as some people probably fart better than others. That's just not what I want to listen to. :) I'll listen to Japanese hard rock ("Siam Shade", "Dir en Grey", "L'Arc-en-Ciel", etc), where I have no clue what the lyrics are about, rather than listen to some dog barking into the mic. (No, I don't like Joe Cocker either, for similar reasons.) .Bryan.. We tend to scoff at the beliefs of the ancients. But we can't scoff at them personally, to their faces, and this is what annoys me. Not that I've given this stuff much of a chance, but I can't stand listening to it. It just sounds like the singer is gargling on razor blades. Similarly with Malmsteen, someone lent us a video of a live concert of his about 18 years ago. I thought, he can play fast. Great. What else can he do? Most of the stuff didn't turn me on. Being fast sure is a talent but it doesn't make great music. There were only a few exceptions that really made my ears prick up, probably because they weren't 64 notes per bar, so much so that Dreaming ended up being the song of choice for our bridal waltz!, much to the dismay of our relatives:-) My friends were impressed though...
