The last two efforts by In Flames have really been disappointing to me, however. I reserve judgement. :-P Alchemist were not as good as the couple of other times I've seen them since then; their sound was pretty muddy. On another note...ANTHRAX the other night \m/ >_< \m/ Oh my god, what a show! :D Has anyone else on the 'jam had the joy of seeing them recently? They were one of THE best shows I've ever seen, so much goddamn energy and they were spot-on awesome...got a good mix of old and new stuff too :D Charlie Benate's drum solo in Nobody Knows Anything *worship*worship* Soilwork were co-headlining, but to be honest, I'd much rather listen to their album - they just don't seem to be able to translate their excellence into a live show. Niallo, I reckon you'd dig Soilwork; remind me to give you a roadtest sometime :-) -- Karyn *fading back to lurk mode* >Date: Mon, 26 Apr 2004 19:11:15 +1000 >From: "Niall Connaughton" >To: >Subject: RE: death metal >Message-ID: > >The first Opeth concert in Sydney had "Flesh Mechanic" and Alchemist... Well, I had been mistaken for Petrucci a lot at the time, and that's who I thought this guy was mistaking me for at first, since it wasn't the first time I'd been compared to Petrucci. But then after he embarrassedly admitted who he thought I was, it occurred to me that there was a similarity, especially in the dim lighting of the Rainbow Room. Our hair was the same length at the time, parted in the middle, both of us donning goatees. Of course, had there been more light, he'd have realized how pretty I ain't.
