I guess > there's not that many ytsejamers at these shows. But...but...weren't you the guy that hated everything post-Derek and said you weren't going to any of the ToT shows? ;-) Anyway, to give you the (brief) story on the last 4 shows since I flew out for them: Wallingford - nothing especially special (to quote JLB), but I'd wager it was the best performance of these 4 shows. Of note, they did do TLF with an extended improv section following it, as well as A Fortune in Lies Bahstin - only special things were LFaGA which was only played at the 15th anniversary LA show prior to this show (altho JLB botched the first verse by coming in way too early) and a performance of ACoS for the encore Philly - DT opened the second set with the first half of Pink Floyd's Echoes (off of Meddle) - nothing else significant NY - DT opened the second set with ACoS, and MP did his drum solo with audience participation. This time however, he invited both participants up to the stage. The first guy (sitting within the first few rows) played with MP on MP's portable tom. Then MP asked one of the crew to pull a fan from the very last row of the theater (which has no balcony) that was having fun. This fan came down and MP invited him up to play on the siamese monster with him, which the fan was more than willing to do! 2/3 of the way into the second set, James introduced Eugene Friesen, who had played cello on Vacant, to join them on stage. Eugene played Vacant with them, then rocked out (as much as a man in his late 50's or early 60's playing cello can) to Stream of Consciousness, and then DT played Disappear for the first time, with Eugene playing some of the "backwards" and "cello" parts found on the studio version of Disappear. This was the biggest surprise - one I didn't see coming at all. Being my fave track on 6DoIT, I was happy I made the trek east to see these shows and especially the NY show. :-) So there's your review! :-) Scott ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Apr 2004 02:39:02 -0700 (PDT) From: rob denni To: ytsejam Subject: setlists Message-ID: Try reading my email again. I have not seen a single setlist since I posted the D.C. setlist and they still had 3 shows left on this part of the tour. I didn't say the whole tour. ==== "There is no worse tyranny than to force a man to pay for what he does not want merely because you think it would be good for him." -- Robert Heinlein __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
