As a whole it is different from the samples online, they seem to be real jamming and such, but it becomes quite musical. I was not a fan of James on Mullmuzzler singing.... James' voice is good on this, not as aggressive as DT., not so weird like MMzzlr. I really still am getting my impressions of it. Am not disappointed, but optimistic that I will enjoy it more. Well written, well played, some great riffs and musical interludes do exist. Not DT style, but you should not be looking for it anyway. As a James/DT fan, it belongs in your collection, and supporting www.PROGROCKRECORDS.COM may allow even more great prog music to enter our homes. I am not much of a 'vocal critic' but since your request for a reply has gone unanswered, I thought I would try to help. If you like prog, James and jammin........you will like it........... dreamst8 ----- Original Message ----- From: To: "Multiple recipients of list" Sent: Thursday, December 18, 2003 9:13 PM Subject: YTSEJAM digest 6741 > YTSEJAM Digest 6741 > > Today's Topics: > > 1) frameshift > by Mike Shetzer > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Date: Thu, 18 Dec 2003 21:53:30 -0500 > From: Mike Shetzer > To: Ytsejam > Subject: frameshift > Message-ID: <00db01c3c5db$48d675f0$9b00a8c0@mizz> > > > --Boundary_(ID_De2F9JwvrEJpGb++kqc21g) > Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 > Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT > > Ok, for the third time, anyone got Frameshift yet? I don't wanna shell out 15-20 bucks if it blows, so someone get it and share whether or not it sucks ;) Ok, I got mine finally last week, but haven't had time to really digest it. On the first few listens, it is very promising except for the sound is a little thin in places, almost like listing to prog mixed in the 1980's. James' voice is in great shape and the lyrics are interesting. Without having listened to it a lot yet, I will say that it is a good, but not great disc. Strange that it's too hard to find on a p2p network. Lots of keyboard/electronic sounds, kinda hard to describe. I've only listened to it once, gonna listen again today... Trevor ps Got the Transatlantic 2CD/2DVD Box set. Very sweet. It's the same size/packaging as the Flower Kings one so they will look good on the shelf next to each other..... ---YTSEJAM FILTER: Rest of message skipped because of attachment ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Dec 2003 01:55:14 +0000 (UTC) From: Eric George To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: RIAA gets blocked!!!
