This is the part that begins at 5:30 and ends at 6:25 (but most notably before the distortion kicks in). Note the line played by the guitar; it's strangely reminiscent of the theme to the TV game show, The Wheel of Fortune. If you dig through the late 1996 - early 1997 Digest archives you can find discussion on this (assuming the archives still exist). I concur. The Blind Faith keyboard solo is certainly one of his best, and one of the best Dream Theater solos. It builds up perfectly (again, name a non-synth sound that would make sense to conclude that climactic build, closing out the piano going into the Lord-like organ solo). I can safely say that whoever thinks that solo is out of place (or any part of it) has an outlook on music in general that is worlds away from mine.
