I win! Actually, I probably should get some of them. Anybody ever heard of a band called Fourth Estate? They're an instrumental guitar rock band out of Colorado. Pretty decent, IMO. I saw the guitarist play out here recently. The guitarist, Dave Beegle, was one of the featured artists on Ian Anderson's Rubbing Elbows tour. http://www.davebeegle.com/ -Dan. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2003 16:12:56 -0500 From: Steve Chew To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: 100 cds you shouldn't own Message-ID: > >100 cds you shouldn't >ownhttp://www.jaguaro.org/feature/archives/000007.html > >I only have 14 of them, I know some of you have more!!! > Sadly, I only have 20 of them. But, I did see a number there which I should pick up (and a few I shouldn't). I also like the new song - I listened to the Wrek version off the link from a few jams ago - it seems to fit right in with the Glass Prison as far as style and chunk goes. And I'm not really a metalhead either; I like the proggier moments of DT as well. It does seem like they are separating the more straight forward stuff from the complex lately, as opposed to really mixing everything up in each song. Not sure which I prefer... I like everything they've done so far, with FII at the bottom of the list and Awake at the top, and everything else swirled around in the middle. I am looking forward to the new disc, and will be patiently waiting for the stores to open on the 11th. That will be a big day for me - new DT, plus the L.A. Line 6 user's group meeting (hosted by Line 6). Cool. Why do I subject yself to these things? 74 Time signature changes. 21 Tempo changes. It took me over an hour to just enter all that into Sonar. I've also been told Matt Guillory (Dali's Dillema, Mullmuzzler) was playing keys on Brian Wherry's entry. That's pretty cool. :-) -Dan. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Oct 2003 08:02:59 EST From: email_address_removed To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: 100 cds you shouldn't own Message-ID: --part1_1e3.1266a186.2cd26603_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" story of my life folks. i have close to 20 of these duds. maybe it was naivete, maybe it was peer pressure, could have been flat out ignorance, but i have them and they're collecting dust as i type. maybe we should form a support group for those that have more than 20, seeing how these people can't make good decisions on their own. at least DT and their side projects were'nt on there. jacko --part1_1e3.1266a186.2cd26603_boundary ---YTSEJAM FILTER: Rest of message skipped because of attachment ------------------------------ End of YTSEJAM Digest 6690 ************************** === Contributions to ytsejam: ytsejam@torchsong.com === === Send requests to: ytsejam-request@torchsong.com === === More information at: http://www.dreamt.org/local/ytsejam.php === === Brought by the ghost of ytsejam@arastar.coms past === === Reach the owner of this list at: ytsejam-owner@torchsong.com ===
