Their new 3 disc album Little Worlds was recently released, and it is brilliant!!!!!! What an amazing album!!!! All 3 discs are amazing. Victor Wooten's work is jaw-dropping, along with everybody else's. In addition to the virtuosic playing, the songs themselves are excellent. Their previous studio album Outbound was excellent, but this one is even better. Lots of guest musicians once again. This album supposedly also comes in a 1 CD version, but I wouldn't recommend you getting that knowing how good all of the discs are. This is a must for anybody who likes great instrumental music. Definitely one of the best albums of the year. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Aug 2003 15:00:36 -0400 From: Mike Shetzer To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: Bela Fleck: Little Worlds Message-ID: <002401c36e5f$d4b05420$9b00a8c0@mizz> are all three CDs music or what? Nobuo Uematsu, acclaimed composer of most (all?) of the music of the past ten games in the Final Fantasy series, from original Nintendo to PS2, has released (sometime ago, not sure) a compilation called The Black Mages, in which him and other talented musicians such as Tsuyoshi Sekito and Kenichiro Fukui have remixed various Final Fantasy themes into proggy, often metal-like compositions. I love the final fantasy games and their music has always been a big part of the reason why I play them. I've always wondered what it would be like to grab some of their great themes and turn into guitar heavy progitude, and now here's my answer. I recommend this to all fans of instrumental prog, nostalgia in the form of old RPG music, and those seeking to find more reason to nod their heads to those innovative japanese, even though its price tag is hefty (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000084TG1/gamesarefun-20/104-7147256-7187935), maybe you can find it cheaper somewhere else? Check out kazaa or WinMX for a sample and you won't be disappointed :) --Boundary_(ID_Fx7982Sdl3VTGBFE04OfSw) ---YTSEJAM FILTER: Rest of message skipped because of attachment ------------------------------ End of YTSEJAM Digest 6636 ************************** === Contributions to ytsejam: ytsejam@torchsong.com === === Send requests to: ytsejam-request@torchsong.com === === More information at: http://www.dreamt.org/local/ytsejam.php === === Brought by the ghost of ytsejam@arastar.coms past === === Reach the owner of this list at: ytsejam-owner@torchsong.com ===
