I don't recall any horrible-voice James shows when I saw them on the FII tour, either. I have the boot from the Atlanta show, which was one of the venues, and he sounded good (or at least, quite listenable :)). I saw a few other shows on that tour and don't remember any disasters, either. > Date: Fri, 8 Aug 2003 14:24:54 -0700 > From: "Dr. Mosh" > Subject: Re: Neal Morse > > 0. What I have noticed is that James has actually gotten better and better as the years have gone on. Seeing them on this tour proved it to me. He hit every single note and also kicked ass on "Take Hold of The Flame"! There is that note at the beginning, that Geoff no longer tries...as the song started I said to my wife, I bet James can hit the note. He didnt hold the note but he sure as hell hit it! I have heard b oots from the images tour and awake tour and it seemed like he was hitting notes solidly. Then FII came around and he seemed to have lost a lot of his high end. On the sfam tour, eh seems to have figured out how to get around singing most of the night and it seems like he is getting even better on the 6doit tour. Let's hope he improves even more on the next tour. The unfortunate fact is that James will probably never be able to sing the I&W material like he used to. As you get older, the voice can't take that kind of punishment night after night and the guy are not getting any younger.
