I've seen them in concert, and yes, it is really weird with a female blackmetal screamer. For the first time in the history of extreme metal an established act like ARCH ENEMY has replaced the dropped vocalist Johan Liiva with a she, a female . Her name is Angela Gossow and her extraordinary vocal-range - from deep growls to aggressive screams - gives the new album "Wages Of Sin" the final, deadly touch." Also look at this picture: http://www.archenemy.net/promo/angela2.jpg She's not really all that masculine, I think you'll agree. You might have been looking at pictures of the wrong person. -- Karyn __________ "Death is the first dancing turtle." >Date: Sun, 10 Nov 2002 11:52:06 -0300 >From: email_address_removed.uy >To: ytsejam@torchsong.com >Subject: >=?iso-8859-1?Q?Big doubt =2D =2D Angela Gossow/Arch Enemy >Message-ID: > >hi folks.... my friends and me have a very huge and "hot" doubt >While listening to Arch Enemy's Wages of Sin, one friend tell me that the >singer was a she!...I could not believe, so I visited www.archenemy.net >to look 4 some pictures!.... There's some error with their website that results in showing the wrong band photos in the member profiles section: http://www.archenemy.net/members.shtml As of now, everyone but Angela Gossow is Angela Gossow. She is Chris Amott. Museo Rosenbach was a cool '70s prog band from Italy that as some comparisons to Metamorfosi. I like their "Zarathustra" CD quite a bit, but it's not for everyone. The vocals are in Italian and the music and vocals are very bombastic and over the top. The music is ELP influenced, with a lot of synth and organ. For me the vocals are what makes the CD -- the singer has a powerful voice that he uses to belt out the lyrics in an operatic style. It's good to see that he's still involved in the prog scene. By the way, if you want to hear some samples of songs by Izz, Maudlin of the Well, and others visit the progwest.com site and click on the mp3 link on the left.
