Despite all improvements, the former always had, has and will continue to do so (assuming we're talking about alternative instruments which are technically ok). The latter requires a reasonable setup and maintenance, but as the question probably more of is whether you want/need to use a whammy bar or not, in the former case you will take care of that anyway instead of feeling it wasn't worth the bother. Have fun with it! Heike ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Oct 2002 18:34:24 -0400 From: "D C" To: Subject: RE:Trems Message-ID: >What has better intonation stability? That said, a good guitar w/ a good, properly set up trem will be better than a cheap guitar w/ a crappy fixed bridge and a crappy neck. -Dan. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Oct 2002 13:31:15 -0400 From: "Rob P" To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Spock's Beard: the next Genesis??? Message-ID: Here's an odd little theory. With Neal Morse's departure and Nick D'Virgilio's impending promotion to lead vocals, I was struck with a comparison of sorts with Genesis. After a double concept album (Lamb), Gabriel (thought to be the band's core) left abruptly. Phil Collins who did a few lead vocals obviously took over. Very similiar. Now, it would be very funny if the Beard had a similar increase in popularity now much like Genesis did. Although hopefully they steer clear of the pop crap Genesis evenutally churned out (Invisible Touch and We Can't Dance). If the Beard can manage an album like say Trick of the Tail, I would be quite happy. OK, that was my theory...too much free time I guess.
