Karl Sanders, their main songwriter, seems to be a fairly well-read guy in terms of ancient Egyptian and Sumerian mythology. He writes about what he likes, and, fortunately for him, that happens to be something differentiating the band from the death metal rank-n-file. I checked out that song that had the link posted here, and I REALLY liked it! It kicked, bigtime. I have to agree, they are more mainstream. It sounds totally like something we would hear on KROCK in NYC, so I was surprised to not have heard them before (though if their record deal is new, I guess it's not that surprising). I don't really hear the DT influence, unless in a teeny-tiny smidgen of a way near the beginning of the song (Do you call my name) with the keyboards. I'd love to hear some other samples from the upcoming CD - right now I am having some serious internet connection issues so I can't double-check the website - and if they match up to what I heard on this one song, I'll definitely be getting this CD! To sum: a very rockin' tune. Check it out :) Cool that you got to work with them in the studio, too, Dave. >They're playing in NY tonight and a bunch of the guys >from the studio have gone to see them, but I got >stuck here working. =( Chalk this up to yet ANOTHER interesting concert experience that I missed in recent weeks... *sigh* bumming around because it's Monday, Alex ==== "I'm a paranoid schizophrenic - I am my own entourage!" __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
