How many billions of dollars in business do these guys do every year? Wow, that's really stickin' it to 'em. Let's assume that they gouged prices by $1 / cd, and that they have each sold 10 million cds for the last 10 years. (I'd say that these are pretty conservative estimate, wouldn't you? seeing as how there are a couple artists right now who can sell in 1 million+ copies in their debut week) ($1 / cd) * (10M cds / yr / company) * (10 yrs) * (5 companies) = $500 million. Ooh baby, that's really stickin' up for the little guy. -Dan. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Oct 2002 09:35:52 -0700 From: "TREVOR HOIT" To: Subject: mixing Message-ID: <004b01c26968$9bbd87c0$message_id_removed> >From: email_address_removed >Subject: Re:mixing >If anyone should mix DT its Andy Sneap, see nevermore's Dead heart and Arch Enemy >Wages of Sin. Last year after V came out they put on a nice >show... Wait a sec... on November 16th Blind Guardian is playing ProgPower, no? SX played there last year, but is not on the bill for this year. SX & BG are, however, touring together... more of the dates have been confirmed by Blind Guardian than Symphony X, but it looks like a done deal. In other news, I will be seeing BG at PP, *and* I just got my reservation confirmation for SX/BG at The World in NYC the weekend after! :) Not too shabby, I must say. Though I will be shabby after what happens to my checking account as a result, probably... They were originally going to be the last act to play, but switched slots with Pain of Salvation. They did this in order to allow themselves more time to get ready and get out of town. Can you see the beauty of tour booking yet ;) Glenn ----- Original Message ----- From: Alexandra O'Connell > > Wait a sec... on November 16th Blind Guardian is > playing ProgPower, no? Nope, they play ProgPower on Friday the 15th, & leave Atlanta on Saturday morning to head up north for the show in Canada.
