They've got a great lead vocalist (with a multi-octave range) & guitarist named Jocelyn Beaulieau, plus another excellent guitarist, a great keyboard player and a phenomenal rhythm section. Imagine a cross between Yes and Fates Warning and you've got some idea of what they sound like. Incredible band. Check out their website at www.hamadryadmusic.com or order "Conservation of Mass," their brilliant debut album, from www.lasercd.com. -- Jeff :^) On Sunday, July 28, 2002, at 02:29 PM, "Mike Shetzer" wrote: > From: "Mike Shetzer" > To: > Subject: Re: arabesque > Message-ID: <001d01c235b4$f8cd8880$ece0ca18@user> > > What kind of music is Hamadryad? I'm new to ripping CDs to mp3. So I d/l MusicMatch jukebox and begin to rip. One problem: Whenever there are certain background vocals or effects on the CD, they are omitted in the mp3 file. Examples: on The Glass Prison at the beginning of the vox where James and Mike alternate lines, there's no James. On The Great Debate, the whole 2nd verse is gone. The music remains...just no vox. I've tried different bit rates and looked at the advanced features for something that might be a clue, but I didn't see anything. Any help? Thanks! Melodic at times, really good musicianship, almost reminds me of Pain of Salvation without being boring... -The Doc ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jul 2002 03:27:10 EDT From: email_address_removed To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: Killswitch Engage Message-ID: --part1_197.a7827bb.2a76484e_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" killswitch engage is quite often.... one bad note though... their lead vocalist left the band. He came a long way from the first album. Which the first album was good but not even close to as good as just barely breathing. --part1_197.a7827bb.2a76484e_boundary ---YTSEJAM FILTER: Rest of message skipped because of attachment ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jul 2002 08:19:20 -0500 From: "Souter, Jan-Michael" To: "'ytsejam@torchsong.com'" Subject: RE: Ripping to mp3 Message-ID: How old/new is your CD-burner? Symptoms sound like an older burner. Brand new very high speed burners are about $50 now. That's strange it's doing that.
