I thought I was the only one who thought that was the best solo on the album. Serves me right for thinking I'm special ;) See ye, A carbon based life form descendant from the apes. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Mar 2002 10:05:43 -0500 From: Pat Reardon To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: D.C. Set List **Spoiler** Message-ID: This is the set list from the D.C show the other night. Some of the songs in the first set may be out of order, but it is a complete list of what they played. At the end of the show, James mentioned they would be coming back in the summer as well. It would make sense, since they historically do two rounds of cities per tour. However, when James mentioned this, I noticed Mike's reaction was as if James was crazy. We'll wait and see, but in the interim, does anyone have further info? Anyway, the show was absolutely fantastic! I saw them a couple of weeks ago in L.A. and was very disappointed, both by the sound quality and the set list. This show blew it away! The highlights were Another Hand/The Killing Hand and Take the Time. Another Hand was about 5 minutes longer than on Live from the Marque while Take the Time highlighted Jordan and John performing dualing leads of By-Tor. AMAZING!! For those who have only seen DT once or do not fully comprehend the complexity of their music, they had no idea what they witnessed. For me, it was the best of the 9 shows I have attended to date! Finally Free outro (intro tape) The Glass Prison Strange Deja Vu Through My Words Fatal Tragedy Scarred 2112 Grand Finale Misunderstood Another Dimension (LTE) Another Hand/ The Killing Hand Lie The Spirit Carries On Pull Me Under ~~~intermission~~~ 6 Degrees ~~~encore~~~ Home Hollow Years Take The Time w/By-Tor and the Snow Dog & Working Man ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Mar 2002 07:45:56 -0800 (PST) From: Ilia To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: D.C. Towards the end where the leads became shorter and they traded them quicker, it seemed that they got off tempo, almost as if they screwed up. I've never heard By-Tor (flame me), so I can't say what it was like as compared to the original, but to me it seemed as though Rudess began playing his responses sooner to throw off Petrucci, in the competitive spirit of things. On the other hand, my two bandmates who attended (their first time seeing DT) were under the impression that they plain out screwed up. Does anyone have insight on that? Couple more things about the DC show which I neglected to mention in my previous message. They didn't play UaGM, which was something I wanted to hear - I've never seen them do that song live. And the Siamese Monster seemed to be restrictive to MP; does anyone else share that sentiment? Honestly, I think he was better off with one of the larger single sets that he's used on previous tours/albums. Then again, a double drum set opens up possibilities for playing with another drummer, which, although they didn't do that at the DC show, seems pretty cool. Anyway, that's that. - Ilia. http://www.44lbs.com Si hoc legere scitis, nimium eruditiones habetes. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Good, but not great. I miss the keyboards, man! I hope the new CD is better than that... Though I'm a HUGE Rush fan (especially circa MOVING PICTURES to HOLD YOUR FIRE), but I didn't much care for TfE. Deficient songwriting? Indistinctive? Lack of strong melodies? I ordered the limited edition WDADU remaster. I haven't gotten it yet. Now i read that the remaster is gonna be available in a jewel case, with the orignal booklet with photos and lyrics from Mechanic Records. I ordered the limited edition 'cause 1.- It's a remaster 2.- It was cheap 3.- I thought it would include this goddamned booklet that the One Way release didn't have. Am i wrong in my 3'rd assumption? I mean, to have the limited edition remaster is great for the music, but it bothers me NOT to have a booklet with the lyrics.
