It's one of those questions, which came first, the chicken or the egg. Well, in this case, it was definitely the egg - the music had its beginnings long before the games started using it. When people say that music I listen to sounds too much like video game music, it indicates to me that they play too many video games. Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with playing video games - I do it myself - but when people find music in "the real world" that reminds them of a video game, that's probably a personal issue they would want to address at some point. Similarly to abnds like Royal Hunt, whose music, some people would say, sounds like soundtrack to a porn film. Why could that be? Perhaps because a production company uses similar music in their films? Could it be that you're watching too much porn? No offense to anyone, and in fact I don't think I've seen people on this list respond negatively to DT or any other music that is reminiscent of video game soundtracks (after all, Petrucci did write a song for that Sega Saturn game). Just a general observation that I've made over the years - people not being able to accept music for what it is, and linking it erroneously to certain lifestyles, hobbies, etc. - Ilia. http://www.44lbs.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Is it something worth checking out, or is it just another nu-metal hype in regards to which we can safely say, "All things shall pass?" - Ilia. http://www.44lbs.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
