Cubase can do pretty much everything Sonar can, or rather the other way around, since Cubase is the original. You can use MIDI controllers, and use VST intruments (soft synths and effects) to get all the sounds you want. If you combine that with reason you can do all the loop slpicing you want. The audio capabilites are powerful as well. CUbase comes with 24 and 32 track audio options. Hope this helps. I just got into this and Cubase is easy numero uno in my book, but Sonar won't be a bad buy either. Deepak __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yeah, that's right. About 5-6 months late. But that's another issue. I just wanted to know if anyone got the ARK - Burn the Sun CD. I was very interested by the comments and would like to know other people's opinion. First Strike Still Deadly, came in and I must say that I am really impressed. The production is really good. They must have spent a pretty penny on this. Plus, Alex Skolnick returns. I always felt he never got the credit he deserved compared to some of his contemporaries (Friedman/Hammett). John Tempesta's drums are as always, great. And of course the rest are great too. Definitely worth checking out Thorin ---YTSEJAM FILTER: Rest of message skipped because of attachment ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Oct 2001 01:12:08 -0400 From: WB Henderson To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Testament / Metal-contest Message-ID: Thorin recommended: >First Strike Still Deadly, came in and I must >say that I am really impressed. Right on. This is a great record, although I suppose it almost had to be, considering the source material is basically a 'best of' from Testament's earlier years. The past alumni inclusion was also a nice twist. Steve Souza of Exodus (and pre-Testament band, The Legacy) even sings on the last two tracks. I mentioned this before and a number of you entered (thanks, you rule) -- my website is running a contest presently, which ends in a little under a week now (on October 31 at midnight EST to be exact). Win yourself a bunch of CDs (Meshuggah, Crowbar, Shadow Gallery, Stuck Mojo, Slipknot, Ice Age, Ministry, Jag Panzer, Dragonlord, Rollins Band, etc.), as well as other metal loot. Go to... http://www.wixq.com/metal/ ..and click on "Contest." For the wary, there's no catch. The contest is also open to non-US residents. So, what are you waiting for? Enter soon...or the only prize you will win is the pity of your peers...
