I hear ya dude, but I think this was the only real way o put out the release without having to resort to the double thick plastic cases of yesteryear. At any rate, if necessary, get some empty plastic cases and put the LSFNY CDs in there. I dunno if you have it or not, but LSFNY is not the first one to have this kinda packaging. Rush did it with Different Stages - and there you had to deal with the extra CD being in a separate (detached) slip case that could easily fall out of the package unless it's gripped firmly. And now QR's Live Evolution is in the same exact packaging style that Different Stages was (minus the 3rd CD), so you have 3 packages to be upset over. :p Scott /me is just happy to have the whole friggin' show released... ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Sep 2001 16:01:09 -0500 From: "Robert Newcomb" To: Subject: re: worst packaging Message-ID: <001301c14929$e058fe60$message_id_removed> Graham Boyle said: > I'm sorry to say that the LSfNY has to be the worst album packaging > I've ever seen for a CD. It obviously costs more money to package cds with gem cases than cardboard ones. We should be thanking our lucky stars that Elektra supports our boys like they do. Now, having said that, Rush --Different Stages gets my vote for worst packaging ever. That damned third disc ALWAYS falls out! I went up and got one of those thick 3CD cases from a local record store, cut the cardboard sleeve and bingo, no more worries. Well I will seek out the normal jewel case version of the live QR. In any case I hate any CD that comes as a digipak, theose cardboard sleeves all have short life spans. I wonder if they are any cheaper to produce than the jewel case version ? SH> /me is just happy to have the whole friggin' show released... Me too, I certainly wasn't wanting to sound spoilt or anything :) NP - Tool - Sydney 26-07-01 bootleg [one of the best live shows I've ever seen, not to mention one of my best ever recordings :) ] -- Best regards, Graham mailto:email_address_removed.au ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Sep 2001 18:10:07 -0500 From: =?iso-8859-1?Q?Mauricio_Mart=EDnez To: Subject: Re: worst packaging Message-ID: <001d01c1493b$eaf1d560$message_id_removed.mx> Pink Floyd's latest is there Anybody Out there? (the ltd edition with deluxe packaging..)deluxe packaging? great photos and all....but the cd's get ruined there pretty quickly. The pulse case is the same. It's a little bit annoying to get separate cases just for the cd's. But i love the artwork! Out of nearly 2000 cd's that I own, this is the most awkward and pain in the ass album to get the cd's out. Best regards, Graham mailto:email_address_removed.au Graham, keep in mind that Mike had to really push the record label to get them to release a 3 CD set. The packaging might have been a compromise..
