Message-ID: I'd lost my King Diamond CD "Them" -remastered gold series- 4 years ago.. about 2 months ago, my mother who lives 800 miles away from where I live brought it back, telling me that their neighbour's 5 year old cousin liked the haunted house cover on the CD and took it with him without asking me when they came over here to visit me for a week.. I was quite shocked.. what amuses me more is that (they say) the kid used to fall asleep while listening to the album.. now he says he's into heavier stuff and asks me if I could lend him some detah metal stuff he's only 8! I must've lost more than 20 CD's here and there.. I haven't found many of them yet.. Q: What's the best way to confuse a drummer? A: Put a sheet of music in front of him. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Aug 2001 08:14:36 -0400 From: Jeff Gutenberg To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: www.emusic.com Message-ID: > Date: Tue, 14 Aug 2001 10:51:32 -0700 > From: "TREVOR HOIT" > To: > Subject: www.emusic.com >>I love that site. I just wanted to throw in a few words about Leonardo the Absolute Man. This cd is excellent!!! It keeps getting better with every listen. It does have some similarities with Age of Impact, although AoI concentrates on instrumental brilliance, while LAM concentrates on vocal brilliance. Still, the constant soloing and Petrucci's presence are not necessary to make LAM a jewel of an album. Here's some more comments about the album: 1) Is it just me or does Trent Gardner sound somewhat like Derek Sherinian? His sounds are very reminiscent of him, as well as his style (in some places). For example, the second song (the short keyboard solo) sounds like something Derek would do. 2) Again, is it just me or does the keyboard sequence after the first verse of Shaping the Invisible sound almost exactly like a piece of Space-Dye Vest? 3) I love Trent Gardner's trombone solos. The guy can do magic with his trombone. His keyboard playing is awesome as well. I love the jazzy piano solo in the third song. 4) The vocal performances in this disc are all great. Everybody does a very good job. The vocal melodies and harmonies are awesome as well. They can really get stuck in your head. Well, if you haven't heard this cd, you should give it a chance, you might enjoy it as much as I do (unless your name is Carlos :-) Alexis ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Aug 2001 16:41:50 +0800 From: email_address_removed To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: ....s.....l....o.....w......
