You have it backward, the European are brown packages, and US are white. 75 shows from the US's 2 legs. The last show of the tour (Seattle) being 3 CD's for $14. Not bad at all. Ingenious really. I wish OFB would do the same. I personally didn't buy "live on 2 legs" but when I found the show I went to this past fall, I picked it up. There is something cool about having the actual show you were at on CD. With CD quality sound, not bootleg quality. I just wish someone had the DT Bogart's show in Cinci, from Feb. of last year. The show where SFAM was played in its entirety. Any help out there? How about Tesla at Bogart's from 3/01? -corvin ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 2 Jun 2001 02:11:46 -0400 From: "Rob Tameo II" To: Subject: Re: Jordan's solo (not) on the DVD Message-ID: <003101c0eb2a$e7fac8e0$be86fea9@sandcastle> >> This just about makes up for Jordan's solo NOT being on the DVD >WHAT??????????? (*&^%()@&%*@)%&@ Is that true??? At one point during the show in Boston, the whole stage went dark, except for a light on Jordan. He had a big-ass solo, at the end of which the TV screens humorously proclaimed "Jordan is also available for parties and weddings" I was kind of expecting that outtake to appear on the DVD, but maybe they thought it would break the continuity. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 02 Jun 2001 03:48:58 -0600 From: Chris Elder To: Subject: regarding Live Album Message-ID: So everyone is divided on this Live CD thing. I am all for it. For those of you who aren't, think of it this way... since the new album won't be out until around Jan. this is just something to tide you over until then. -corvin ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 2 Jun 2001 12:37:30 -0500 From: "Christopher W. Ptacek" To: Subject: Live DT album Message-ID: <007201c0eb8a$b33ff020$message_id_removed> I have to kind of agree with those who are not very interested in this album. This is what, live cd 4, 5 and 6? Not including boots. What's next, a best of? I know that Portnoy is doing it because he believes the show was very special, and it probably was, but this 3 cd thing is overkill, IMO, and I know for certain that I won't be able to sit through 3 cds of DT live anytime soon. I still love the music, but it's just too much... and it's unnecessary. This won't sell a whole lot... it's the kind of thing they should have made available through their web sites, so they wouldn't have to delay the album, IMO. With the DVD and all, this just doesn't make any sense to me at all... if it were another band I'd think it was a money grab kind of thing, but I know that Portnoy is the most rabid DT fan of them all, and he's doing this because he thinks it should be done... but I don't think it will make it into my cd collection ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 2 Jun 2001 14:38:50 -0400 From: Dan Costello To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Triple live Message-ID: >why buy something that you don't neccesarily NEED well, we don't NEED any of our music, do we? there are plenty of people on earth who get by without mountains of cd's and stereo equipment. To be honest, I don't see the need; Well, the amazing thing to me is that while there will indeed be the loyal purchases of this CD, it will HAVE to be a commercial failure. You wont be attracting many people with a 3-CD live set. That said I AM PSYCHED !!!!!!!!!!!!! Who cares if you have most of this already on DVD !! The dudes are putting out more stuff for us !! Great !! THINK ABOUT THIS !! This move is sooooo pro-serious-fan that anyone who has anything negative to say should slap themself !! Me does worry that this may mean that the release date for the new studio may be way out there..... Me also wonders how they got JB's sound from Another day. That mike was OFF "upstage". And, Mr. JB flubbed the ending. Wonder if that will be on the live CD ?? Maybe they bumped into him at Beartracks ..... ;) Mark Metzger email_address_removed ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 2 Jun 2001 17:52:39 -0400 From: "Metzger, Mark" To: "Ytsejam (E-mail)" Subject: Re: Live is Cool but .... Well, this one strikes a nasty chord with me. It used to be that if you caught two shows in a row, you could count on different setlists. In fact, when they played two shows at that firetrap down in CT somewhere, I think that there may have only been 2-3 songs that were repeated. Sadly, they are not nearly as fun or spontaneous as they used to be !! I know (from reliable sources) that MP would love to go nuts !! It is the other TOADS in the group that want "same-old-same-old". And the story line of Jordan having to pre-program his keys to match the setlist makes me PUKE !! Oh well, will probably get the shit flamed out of me by Mr. 420 for saying this, but what the hell. After all, you've already heard all of the songs so what's the point?? Why "waste" your money???" I agree! I would love to have the new live discs because I prefer to practice to live cd's, and all the live ones from this tour are mp3's with 2 second gaps in between songs which is a pain to practice to (especially SFAM and medleys). That is worth the money alone. Plus the clarity of the songs as opposed to the boots would be a bonus. ===== Rob Denni 3008 Tallwood Way Augusta, GA 30906 (706) 790-8937 Go visit my website! http://home.talkcity.com/HeadbangersHwy/funkygroove/index.html __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
