Okay, that's just damned creepy. I am a vegetarian. I used to try to sleep to "Dark Side of the Moon." It seemed innocent enough, right? Well of course, when "Time" starts with all of those damned chimes, I'd wake up every time. So then I tried "Wish You Were Here." I feel asleep alright to that one. But when I put on "Animals," I don't know WHAT it is about that CD, it keeps me awake. When it's over, if I flip on the radio, I'm out like a light by the second song. Oddly, I put on "Awake" the other night because I wasn't all that tired and I figured if I wasn't particularly keen on sleeping yet, I might as well enjoy some good tunes. And I fell asleep faster than I could think to stay awake. I tried it again the next night with the same result. It's disturbing. What's even more disturbing is that I also fall asleep quickly while listening to Blumchen (gotta love that german techno-pop) or any other techno-type disc. I'm not even going to TRY to figure that one out. But this "Animals" thing is really bothering me. Also of note: while sleeping to "Awake," on repeat all night long, I woke up four times during the night, every single one of them during "Space-Dye Vest." My sleeping habits warrant a psychology paper, methinks. --summer `'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`'`' Anada e'zine: http://anada.net The Anada Music Project: http://music.anada.net e-mail: email_address_removed ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 May 2001 23:45:34 -0700 From: David Dixon To: "'ytsejam@torchsong.com'" Subject: RE: Schism/Lateralus Message-ID: > Speaking of touring, if Planet X can manage to find a promoter to bring them out to Oz > then why the hell can't DT ? I have two guesses: 1. You are a person who happen to do things by habit. Maybe you are not compulsive, but there are certain things that you do under specific circumstances that you just _do_ as opposed to having to feel like you have to put some effort into. In other words, you might have developed a routine where you sleep through 'Awake.' 2. Maybe you are connected to the music of 'Awake' and 'Animals' in different ways, and thus you respond differently. The samples on the site sounds like worth checking the whole thing. Also, the new Attention Deficit, WOW! From the samples I conclude it's much better than the 1-st album, and I liked that one a lot. :) Geez I love fusion. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 May 2001 17:13:43 -0500 From: "Jan-Michael" To: Subject: Maximum Indifference Message-ID: <000e01c0db30$ce972920$message_id_removed> I'm listening to a new band (to me)....they have 2 CDs out.. The bass and drums are excellent, but the guitar keys and vocals I find a bit lacking. I listen to it every once in a while, but it's not on my list of favorites. I can't think of anything really surprisingly good or bad on the album, so the samples probably are a good indication of the whole thing. ~Chris ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 May 2001 08:53:58 +1000 From: Graham Boyle To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: About Dario Mollo Message-ID: Francesco Racioppa wrote: > Dario Mollo is a great guitarist from Italy, with two cd, "The Cage" with > Tony Martin on vocals and Don Airey on keyboards, and another with Glenn > Hughes on vocals!!! And what a horrible waste of vocal talents on both The Cage and Voodoo Hill. Mollo's song's are average at best and even the colossal lungs of Martin and Hughes cannot save either of these albums. graham ------------------------------ End of YTSEJAM Digest 5850 **************************
