Yeah, I did a movie trailer for the Crow about 3 years ago. Premier is a cool ass program. Not much use for it out of school though here in Kentucky. I don't have broadband, so I can't check it out, but it is always cool to meet new designers. corvin ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Mar 2001 09:23:35 -0800 (PST) From: Adam Perkowsky To: email_address_removed Cc: e-prog@yahoogroups.com, ytsejam@torchsong.com, freaks@torchsong.com, Subject: Off Topic: ATTN Echolyn Fans Message-ID: Hey everyone, Due to the generosity of Internet prog legend Captain MDA (Stephen Ellis), a Yahoo Group mailing list called echolyntree has been created in order to CD tree Echolyn's performance from Progscape 1994. If you are interested in joining the tree, subscribe to the echolyntree mailing list by going to the Yahoo Groups main page and search for echolyntree. That should get you to the echolyntree page which will have a link that will allow you to subscribe to the list. Once you subscribe, post to the list what country you are from, and if you can be a branch (can burn two copies) or a leaf (burnerless but will trade for blanks and postage). Signups for the tree will end on Thursday, April 12. Then I will post the tree structure on the echolyntree mailing list. If the tree is successful, there are other shows we can tree in the future. Sorry for the off-topic post. This will be my only post about this subject on this list, so if anyone is interested, please subscribe to the email_address_removed mailing list. Please send me a private email if you can help. Wouldn't mind going to see Opeth also ( Tuesday, 4/10 also @ Jaxx), but I'm not pushing my luck ;) joe ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Mar 2001 12:53:17 -0500 From: WB Henderson To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: DAM CDs Message-ID: Question about DAM CDs (the ones you get through MP3.com). The basic idea is that they contain both MP3 and CD-audio versions of the tracks, which is a fine idea if you ask me. However, I bought one for the Aussie 'band' (maybe more of an entity) Flatstick, and, although the music itself is great, I'm left wondering about the source of the CD-audio portion. To my ears, it sounds like a converted MP3: swishy cymbals and so forth, generally the telltale residuals of lossy audio compression. Is this observation true of all DAM CDs, or is this just a coincidence, the sound issues coming from the source tape rather than some sort of de-conversion process?
