Message-ID: <001201c02af2$6a0a8360$c18b06d5@michael> Hi Leuts! Mike Portnoy wrote: Now of course, ***EVERYTHING IS STILL SUBJECT TO CHANGE*** I can only reveal what my *plans* are... What I'm currently working on and hopefully will able to release is: 1. A VHS version of SFAM Live in its entirety 2. A "Special Edition" DVD with SFAM in its entirety along with an audio commentary, one multiple camera option of watching the "Bert-Cam" (the images and camera angles projected live on the screens), a Behind the Scenes documentary with the crew and the fans as well as Roseland rehearsals, and most importantly...as much "Bonus Footage" (meaning songs from Set #2) as I can possibly squeeze onto the DVD... There is the possibilty of an *eventual* CD release as well, but Elektra is not commiting to that just yet... The plan for the video and DVD is for an early 2001 release, but I am trying to convince the label into getting the VHS out before Xmas...(the production of the DVD will require more time) Now, Like I mentioned - These are *MY* plans...things may change.... There is a lot of cool stuff going on on that disc. I opened up the case and saw that the cd wasn't there. I am baffled where the disc actually is. Kind of wierd that my first post should be non-DT, but should have a lot more to say after 21st Oct gig in London (last of this tour I believe - do hope they treat us to something special!). Got some news on the Bruce Dickinson project though - this is from PCR (actors newsletter): "New production company Messiah Pictures has been set up by Terry Jones and Julian Doyle. They have a number of projects in early stages of development and hope to be in production with their first project next year. Among features on their future slate is Chemical Wedding, first mooted by writer/director Julian Doyle in 1991, who has cowritten this with Bruce Dickinson. This is a science fiction tale about a man who believes he is the reincarnation of the legendary master of black magic, Aleister Crowley." Make of that what you will! Anyone going either to DT in London or Maiden in Birmingham? The beginning of December in London should be cool for gigs - on the 1st Uli Jon Roth is playing (anyone heard his new album yet?), Stratovarious play for the first time in the UK on 10th, and Cradle of Filth on the 18th (good for a laugh - saw them last year). Well, that's my head cleared of junk for now. I have a lot of favorites. Obviously, Dream Theater is my favorite group overall. I like Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, LTE, Steve Vai. (I love guitars. Could ya notice?) I also listen to some more mainstream stuff, like Elton John, Sarah Brightman (beautiful voice), Andrea Buccelli (sp?), and basically anything I come across that I like. I don't automatically hate all pop becuase it's pop like a lot of prog fans I know do. Some of it I really like. (can't think of any right now, but i know there's some). It just depends on my mood, I suppose. Well, that's about it.
