Actually, no, I've never heard of the album, "Symphony of Destruction". I have, however, heard or an album called "Countdown to Extinction". I feel like being an ass. I also like most of the black album. My point is just that, sure, neither band at that point was really living up to their older standards, but they still weren't writing pop songs. Well, except for nothing else matters. Winger wannabes. ;D -Brian -- superhype! I'll admit that by both bands' standards, their last few releases have been "watered down" to say the least. But to me they are still very valid musically and I find them enjoyable to listen to. Just my 2cents (plus GST for all of us Aussies!!!) Cheers... I don't know if everyone is aware, but the QR song "Nightrider" was actually written about Knight Rider and is homage to David Hasselhoff. Chris Degarmo said in an old interviw in Kerrang magazine that Knight Rider was his and Michael Wilton's favorite show. They used to spend their Friday nights wtching it while smoking pot. And after the first episode to feature KARR, they were inspired to wirte Nightrider, and did so that night. Apperently, throughthe friend of a friend, Hasselhoff found out about the song and loved it from the moment he heard it. He had his people get in contact with the band and started talking. In fact, Degarmo once said that they were lucky enough to have Hasselhoff come to a show of theirs along with Devon, who was a party nut supposedly. Hasselhoff actually had KITT with him that night (as he did once in a while) and so him, Degarmo and Wilton went out cruising with KITT while Devon stayed at the hotel, banging some chicks. Rumor has it that in the one episode of Knight Rider, Degarmo is actually driving KITT! (with Devon in the back seat with a lady friend nonetheless too!) No one has ever confirmed that rumor however, to my knowledge. Hasselhoff has also always been a big rock fan, and has once or twice even come up on stage to do a little bit of singing with QR! This happened once or twice on the Warning tour, and of course was on the song Nightrider. I was lucky enough to be at the one show and it was pretty cool. And also, when Baywatch debuted back int hearly 90's, Hasselhoff tried to get Degarmo to play on the theme song! Degarmo wisely turned down the offer though. Message-ID: <000001bfe75a$46d99240$15deb03f@majesty> Hello all... Okay, first Queensryche. Is it me, or has Queensryche started to get a lot more airtime on the better Rock stations out there. Here where I am, we have WTOS, they are known for having some of the coolest mixes of killer music (Dream Theater even gets airplay!), but recently (like the last month) Queensryche has made an impact on the playlist. I swaer I hear them every couple of hours, new stuff, old stuff, I hear it constantly. Is Queensryche making a comeback in the music industry, are they going to begin to pioneer music again? I have even heard "Suite Sister Mary," make the Stoner (which is a long song played every night at 10:00). The Stoner has to get the largest number of requests to be played, and has to have 100% approval of the DJ on that night, coincidence, maybe.... Secondly Megadeth. Megadeth is going to be different without Marty, but hey more the power to him and Megadeth on their ventures in the music industry. A cool thing happened. My sister is happily married and bearing her first born child. The hospital that she is having the baby at is letting her choose music to listen to during the birthing experience. She said that when the time comes and she is fully dialated, and in the last moments of child birth, she wants her power pushing music to be none other than Megadeth!!! Youthanasia of course, not the best choice, but her favorite work of Mustaine and company. I just thought that would be a really neat little thing to post........ Have a good one.
