I've only listened a few times through, but I think I'm going to like YGN more than DAfR. Permanent Address and Subway awesome songs. It's more laid-back and atmospheric than the first one. Also more consistent, I think. Some of the stuff on DAfR is kind of sketchy. KevMo does the coolest soundscapes. I love the astronaut and zen themes. I'm very impressed with this disc. I just wish Kev's discs weren't so short. If I remember well there are like 4 notes in that song, which are played on bass. They are all in that little interlude which we all like to play beside a campfire, while everyone else wants to sing the beatles. But of course, there is a lot more double guitar in there, than bass, most distinctly & audibly during the choruses, and "under" the solo. I also think that JM has a right to play guitar. :-) But probably the real reason he played guitar on that vid is because he wanted to become a rock icon and sex symbol. Cause you no bass player (except Steele.........and Kip Winger) gets to be a sex symybol. anyway, bye for now, Tibor (happy to see Yugoslavia go to the next round of the Euro2000 cup..... even more happy that the yugo audience has prowed that they are anti-regime.........spasi srbiju i ubi se, slobodane, they scream......which basically means "save the country and kill yourself, mr. president........ sorry for going far off topic) > ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2000 22:49:05 +0300 From: Janne Jokitalo To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: TSM live Message-ID: email_address_removed wrote: > > In a message dated 6/21/00 11:21:44 AM Eastern Daylight Time, > ytsejam@torchsong.com writes: > > << I was watching the LIVEtime video with the Silent Man video, and I noticed > that JM is playing a guitar... Well, why not have JM to play guitar, would be kinda silent when JP plays that short solo, eh ? And you haven't been mistaken, JP sings (I think) almost everytime backing vocals to TSM. And tony was playing his chapman stick, i think. No, Tony was playing his body-less electric acoustic bass. The Stick actually (unless I'm mistaken) is a 12-stringed (or 24?) instrument that rests on a shoulder strap and is tapped.
