Aside from the lovely picture I was linked to-I read in the paper last Friday that some kid went into school and stabbed 5 other kids. Too bad, this world makes me sick sometimes. ANYWAYS-Does anywhere know where I can download or view the HOB broadcast? This question has probably been asked MILLIONS of times now...but I missed it, (spent the evening with the signifigant other), and I'd really love to see it. Thanks alot! SFAM is the most bass heavy DT album yet. Its very clear and out there. Even more so than on FII (which also brought the Bass in front of the mix) >> I don't know. I think that the bass is by far the clearest on FII. I don't hear it that great in SFAM, but then again maybe that's becasue I'm always concentrating on JP's playing! LOL And I wish the keyboard were a little higher on some SFAM, especially Fatal Tragedy. ON the one live version of this I downloaded off Bogie's site, the keyboards sound much more in the front and I think the song sounds better as a result. Oh, and I too love Awake! First of all, Theresa. Don't get me wrong, I think the woman is a good singer, but for some reason the songs she is in just don't seem to be as interesting as the others. That TSO Sound. After three albums, I have come to the following conclusion: TSO is really really repetative. They use a LOT of the same music and melodies across all their albums, to the point where they all kind of blend together. And that thing they do at the end of a lot of their songs (I don't know exactly how to describe it, but they do it at the end of Fate) REALLY gets on my nerves after a while. It has gotten to the point that I am concidering ripping the audio, cutting out the bits that annoy me and burning it on CD-R so I can listen to it without the remote in hand to FF or skip. South-Parkian Orchestra. I don't mind the male singers on the album... I think their style for the most part fits in just fine... two things do bug me though. First off, Young Beethoven sounds like a total pussy when he says "Vienna!" And secondly, there are a couple of places (particularly in This is Who You Are) where Beethoven sounds exactly like the guys in South Park doing a parody of dramatic songs. I keep expecting him to belt out "You're my conjoined twin... deadfetushangingoffofyourhead,wo-man" h t t p : / / w w w . r e a l i t y s q u a r e d . c o m / | Pat Griffin email_address_removed Reality Squared Design | h t t p : / / w w w . r e a l i t y s q u a r e d . c o m / ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Apr 2000 07:29:20 -0400 From: "Kez" To: Subject: Watchtower News and Website Message-ID: <002801bfade0$55987e80$message_id_removed> > >does anyone remember watchtower? the progressive techno thrash metal band from >early 80's into the 90's? featured billy white-guitar,jason >mcmaster-vocals, doug keyser-bass, and rick colaluca-drums... >a reformation of what is closest to the original watchtower as you will ever >get, jason, rick, doug, and ron jarzombek on guitar(san antonio slayer,as well >as took billy whites place in watchtower from 1987 to the present)...is about >to reside like a cold day in hell .. that this would ever happen.... >FRIDAY THE 23RD OF JUNE.. Well, the main riff of "Ytse Jam" is just plain old harmonic minor (if I remember correctly), but it's eerily similar to a popular 'catch phrase' used in the indian raga "Kiriwani". My freind and I saw Anoushka Shankar play this live, and we just turned and looked at eachother, amazed that she had ripped off a DT tune =^). If you're into indian music, you should check it out, it's on her only CD, "Anoushka". Also, you may want to check out a band called "magnificent octopus". They're just plain wacky, and have some tunes up on MP3.com. One of them, "Laptikogopus" (I think), is said to be inspired by "Star Wars, indian classical music, and polka". Weird stuff, but definitely prog. -Fran p.s. I was trying to think of what I would describe AC/DC as, because I didn't want to use "glam metal" either. I couldn't think of anything for a few minutes though, and so just went with it =^). ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Apr 2000 09:42:48 -0700 (PDT) From: Trent To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: Netscape Follies/Martha Stewart Message-ID: The YtseproGtologist wrote-- > BTW, Yahoo, and Hotmail does not exactly qualify as > the pinnacle of security. Maybe not, but Yahoo is miles ahead of Hotmail. Hotmail (now owned by MSN) has the shittiest security, shittiest features and shittiest service you could ever hope to expect. Once upon a time, long long ago, Hotmail was A1, the best around, but ever since they were bought, their service has really started to suck ass. And as far as security goes, it's kinda tough to protect against threats from hackers and whatnot since there's not much that can be done. And anyway, so what if someone hacks my e-mail account? It's just e-mail, there's nothing in here that I can't afford to lose. Hacking my computer would be much different. And as far as free e-mail services go, Yahoo is the best of the best IMHO. ===== *Trent "I cannot stop the thought of running in the dark. Coming up a which way sign.
