The station TOS plays them at least once a night, but friends tell me they hear them at least once or twice during the day as well. Before SFAM, we'd hear mostly "Burning My Soul" and "Lines In The Sand", and occasionally PMU and "Lie". Every now and then I'll call up and request something less known, ("Scarred", "Under A Glass Moon", ect). I never hear Steve (Vai) on the radio around here. Once a classic rock station, (WBLM) was playing P&W in the background for an entire night, but thats it. I remember hearing "Blowfish" on one station in NH. As for the 4-20 events....as far as I know, today wasn't a horrible day. For the past few years we've had nothing but tragedies on 4-20, so it's nice to know something bad didn't happen for once. Happy B-day Mike. Warm Regards... Cheers.... Enjoy life.... Due to your chitter-chatter, I'm gonna splitter-splatter your blidder-bladder! Just had to get that off my chest. Anyway... Thanks to the person who recommended HMV.com for finding Michael Romeo's solo CD: The Dark Chapter. As the person said, they shipped it out the next day! HMV is based in Canada, but they ship all over the world and this American is damn satisfied! - Dr. Teeth N.P. They Might Be Giants - Flood P.S. Regarding the "Drum Machine" used on the CD. It isn't nearly as bad as I had been warned. It's tastefully mixed in with keys and plenty of effects. The result is a very delicious CD of instrumental neo-classical prog. If you love Symphony X and can deal with the fact that the awesome drums are created by a machine and not a guy, get this CD!!! P.P.S. This was on our "Most emotional songs" list some months ago. Have to agree with loving it. If memory serves me, this was written by Kevin, and recorded last of the Awake sessions. It was included as a mini-disc from the Japanese release of Awake, so kindly distributed to us Americans by Kaoru. The samples from the live versions were likely supplied by Kevin, being excerpts of James Joyce (more of which appears in 6:00, read by the same person). ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 Apr 2000 07:20:24 EDT From: email_address_removed To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: YTSEJAM digest 5438 Message-ID: In a message dated 4/21/00 3:05:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time, ytsejam@torchsong.com writes: << Date: Thu, 20 Apr 2000 22:50:28 -0400 To: "Ytsejam (E-mail)" Subject: New listener Message-ID: <000401bfab3c$5a927b80$e800a8c0@sos> I first heard Dream Theater when they opened for Marillion at the Sundance club in Long Island, I think in 1989, maybe early 90. I was impressed with the first half of the set whaich was all instrumental as they had no singer at the time. They then said we have a surprise for you and introduced their new vocalist from Seattle, is that the same guy as now? I retreated to the bar at that point as this guy proceeded to prance around the stage like he was in Motley Crue or something!! Anyway, onto my point - I picked up SFAM as I'd heard a couple of songs at my friends house. I love it and it's never out of my CD player lately. What I want is recommendations for the next purchase - what do you guys think? SOS *************************** Andrew Ashmall-Liversidge email_address_removed ICQ: 8808964 *************************** >> No, it's not the same guy, the one you're talking about was Steve something-or-other if I'm not mistaken... The current vocalist is James LaBrie, who joined in 1992. Ummm, next purchase, that's kinda difficult, but I'd say either A Change of Seasons or Images and Words, since those are two classics. If you like something a bit heavier, get Awake. I'd say buy Falling into Infinity last, as it tends to be the least favorite. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 Apr 2000 14:26:21 +0200 From: Andreas Skarin - SDTS To: ytsejam@torchsong.com Subject: Re: Solid tension Drums Message-ID: <390048ED.6938D5A8@sdts.nu> Abu Shams Ahmed wrote: > The second tape was blank, totally blank!!
