My fiancee maintains the #ytsejam IRC Homepage which contains info on joining the IRC channel to chat with fellow DT fans, plus has pictures of many of the channel regulars. If you frequent IRC, send in your pic and bio to be added. The site will be moving to gabbo.net down the line, but for now it can be found at: http://www.ameritech.net/users/dt_irc/welcome.htm --------------------------------------------- The same person also asked about Mike Bahr. Bahr was a very popular provider of Dream Theater Bootlegs in the old days. His first few releases were very rare versions of popular DT songs, live performances, as well as material that wasn't available on DT CDs. They were limited editions of somewhere between 500 and 1500 (I think) numbered CDs that were actually pressed by a plant (not CD-R). Mike was later plagued by legal problems and had to change to producing his own CD-R bootlegs since he could no longer have the material pressed. He fell behind on orders, and fell out of favor of most of the mailing list at the time. He's been pretty quiet in recent years, and I think he has gotten out of the bootleg business, at least on the retail level. His early CDs usually sell for a couple of hundred dollars when they come up for auction. Now that the taboo has passed you can probably get someone to knock you off a CD-R dupe of the discs for a more reasonable price. The material is still good, even if the collector's value is no longer there. I could go into more detail if I wanted, but I think it will leave it at that. If you want to know more, just ask, I'm sure that either myself or others can provide you with whatever info you need. But the nerdy 25-year-old has a knack for creating believable characters. Among his favorites is Melissa, a cute high school freshman who spends her evenings listening to Creed and Dream Theater-- and chatting about sex online with adult men. Her mom, Melissa tells these men, is so strict that she is thinking of moving in with her stepsiter, a party girl who shacks up with her boyfriend. ***** So the first time in ages DT gets any recognition in the mainstream press, it happens to be in an article about people who catch kiddie pornographers and other online criminals. The boy knew all along that Malcolm was dead. That explains why he ran to the church the first time he saw him. If you watch the movie again you'll notice he never speaks to Malcolm when there is anyone around. He also made the comment about speaking to the wife while she was sleeping. If you've only seen this movie once, do yourself a favor and see it again. The way it was done was amazing, simply amazing. The fact that throughout the entire movie Malcolm wears the same clothes, never speaks to a person beside the boy, is never spoken to by anyone but the boy and only interacts with one (that I can find) inanimate object and it isn't distracting, or ever noticeable is amazing. A lot of movies attempt the surprise twist at the end. None handle it as well as the Sixth Sense. It is a truly great movie. tk -----Original Message----- ]From: ytsejam@torchsong.com [mailto:ytsejam@torchsong.com]On Behalf Of Edward Polzin Sent: Monday, April 03, 2000 8:41 PM To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: Re: The Sixth Sense -SPOILERS- (if you haven't seen it, don't read) I think he does realize it once he helps the girl that was poisoned. he realizes that Malcolm needs to be "helped" as well.
