In fact, if I hadn't known better, judging by the sound of these albums I would guess Entropia to be their second release and not their first. It is more technical, the band takes bigger risks, and I just plan like the melodies more. Entropia also seems to contain a wider range of styles. There are some sick slap bass grooves that don't appear on OHbtCL and I think the other lead guitar player is better on Entropia. Because it is so wild, I would agree that Entropia is probably a bit more difficult to get into. But don't give up on it, I think it's just so out there and whacky that it takes a long time to digest everything that's going on. For example, listen to the rhythms in track 6. It blows me away every time. I love both albums and PoS is definitely one of my new favorite bands. >> No way man. I TOTALLY agree with you. Entropia is more adventrous in my opinion and definantly crazier. I think that it really attacks your ears from every angle. Should we even talk about the short pieces like Circle that makes my hair stand on end. So hauntingly beautiful its sick. And then, the last sentence of this chilling story . . . "If death is but dream then don't let me . . . fall asleep." Wow. I mean, this is DEEPLY moving stuff. Daniel Gildenlow should be given major credit for some of the best lyrics I've ever heard. His writing is phenonmonal, not to mention his delivery of those lyrics, nothing is choppy at all. Then, we would have to talk about his overal singing ability which is MONSTER. Oh yea, did we say that he plays guitar and trades solo's?:> He does do all of this on OHBtCL, BUT on this CD, I think that its got a LOT less of a formulaized pattern to it(I said this in a previous post). Now that DT has released a fabulous concept album and plan to perform the album in its entirety in concert, I would think that this will definitely be recorded. Is it possible that DT will release another Live album? Or maybe they regret releasing a live album after FII and now they feel that they can't release another one? Then Mapex contacted him and offered him a custom kit and he went to their camp. I remember pretty well from an old interview, that Tama told Mike that "The door is still open" and when they came along with the excellent Starclassic, Mike ran back to them. :))) The Starclassics are great drums, but I still miss that epic drum sound from the LiT video (excluding the snare, the new SC snare sound kicks all types of human body parts). The Shadow Gallery (co-)written songs stand out a mile as do the Trent Gardener ones (whose style I've always f^*kin hated). As always Carl Cadden-James and Allman deliver some nice melodic elements coupled with some desparately cheesy clichees. BUT, I do like 'His Voice' and 'Statued'. I guess I would have got on alot better with the album if the Shadow Gallery and Trent Gardner influences weren't so blindingly obvious. IMHO, this album is worth picking up but it does come off as a collection of (some pretty good) songs which were handed to James to sing. I hope Mullmuzzler record another CD with alot more influence from James and the band. >Relayer--Incredible album, lousy sound.

On that note... anyone have an accurate score TGoD?

And finally, for Mr. Gajic:
Go to www.progrock.net and follow any/all links under
vendors/labels. Check for "Various Artists" cds. These
will include samplers and tribute albums (practically
the same thing).
A few others to look for:
"Supernatural Fairy Tales": on Rhino (who remastered ELP's
catalogue) has 5 cds with about 40 classic prog bands. This
is probably the best introduction to old school prog as you
can get.
"Progfest" samplers: the annual live event showcases
mostly newer bands. Typically 2 cds.
"Space Box": a 3 cd set released by Cleopatra (better
known for industrial music) of old psychedelic,
electronic, and space rock.
"In Search of Space": from Dressed to Kill. Same kind of
stuff as "Space Box", but less prog.
