I've been playing for about 6 years, using mainly Strats (standard trem), Pauls (stop tailpiece, obviously), and Ovation acoustics (never seen an acoustic with a trem... :) ). Anyway, I just recently bought a brand-new ESP with a licensed Floyd Rose tremolo. Before I knew what I was doing, I went ahead and took off the locks on the nut and tried to tune the strings with the coarse (headstock) tuners. Of course, the whole damn thing went horribly out of tune, the bridge is in the wrong position, everything's out of alignment, yada yada yada. Now that I've screwed everything up, how do I fix it? I'd also like to put Elixir 10's on it instead of the GHS 9's that came from the factory. However, if you have an open mind and have enjoyed Kiske's previous songwriting (not only his 1st solo album, but the songs he penned in Helloween), you'll probably like this album. IMO, it's pretty deep and introspective. It's my favorite record of the year so far. But....new DT is coming and I just got some advance information from EastWest. Without giving anything away, it looks like this record will be amazing!!!! I've been a fan since WDADU in '89, and I haven't been this excited since just before I&W came out in '92!!! Consequently I went on to purchase about 10 more within a 2 week period. *sigh* Many, many more to go. :) Hmmm... I think "Strictly Commercial" is the best place to start. Then grab "Have I Offended Someone?" Both are best of albums that will give you a feel of Zappa's incredibly wonderful (yet overwhelmingly racey) music. Then buy the double CD "Joe's Garage" to indulge yourself in the whackiest, most at-once sonically pleasing and overly offensive concept album you'd probably ever want to hear. :) Just be warned. Zappa's lyrics are extremely racey to unsurpassed degrees. It only enhances the listening experience 20-fold. :) Just imaging Steve Vai writing his most insane masterpieces to lyrics written by AL(the ProGtologist) and sung by Mike Portnoy. :D That's kinda close to Frank Zappa.
