Longterm memory of pointless trivia, that's important, but the center of my brain that appreciates romantic comedies, *that* I hardly ever use... I...have...an idea. There's all sorts of Internet auctions going right now, where anybody can sells any sort of crap they gots (including ridiculously overpriced bootlegs). Why not start a betting center? The Ebay of gambling. A person selects an event, sports being the obvious choice, then people send in their bets via credit card. The difference between this and traditional methods of gambling is that you can submit any sort of idea. Like whether Dream Theater's next album is going to be called "Metropolis II" or not (incidentally, I'm betting "yes" on that one -- mark me down), how many Backstreet Boys videos will be on in a given day of MTV, et cetera. If there's already a system like this in place, please don't tell me about it, because I'm enjoying my delusion of having an original, somewhat marketworthy thought. I'm going to close with some sad news. Ricky Martin is playing the Spectrum in Philly in almost exactly two months. It is sold out. What's the world coming to?
