All you do is change some options, hit play and your play list of mp3s are converted to wav and fairly quickly. I'm sure Mike recorded it (as I heard he records everything) and it may be rough around the edges, and maybe not that good quality, but I'm sure it exists. Besides, if they had improvised in this rough version (experimenting with riffs and stuff), then they wouldn't want to lose that because it would be difficult to remember in a 30 minutes, hyper complex song. And I believe Mike said in his own words that it had been recorded.
