But see, here you're talking about ANALOG casette, which means that the speed
you recorded at does not necessarily equate the speed which you playback at.

Hell, if the tape player is nice and cool in the morning, it might play the
tape faster than in the afternoon because the tape player might be heated up
or the tape medium could be stretched out, etc, etc...

Howdy All.
Just curious as to people's opinions on which are the best DT songs to =
play to those who have never heard them.
My best mate is a guitar teacher, so it was an easy choice (J.P's killer =
solo on O.I.A.Livetime), but for most people, they seem to be put off a =
little by the complexity and sound of DT. =20

I am fully aware that the strength of DT is their ALBUMS, not songs, but =
time doesn't always allow for this, so what do you guys think
is their best work.  Personally, I find 9 out of 10 people (including =
myself) absolutely love Space Dye Vest, with Pull Me Under and Lie close =
behind.  No surprise they were all written by the strongest songwriter =
in the band.   (THIS HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH KEVIN VS =
DEREK!!!!- JUST THAT I'M PRAISING KEVIN FOR WHICH HE DESERVES)

So please let me know which songs you think are the most likely to grab =
people's attention to this wonderful music.  I host a radio show here in =
Melbourne, and so far have only played You Not Me and Caught In A Web on =
air- what response I get here will probably determine what I play from =
now on. =20

To exemplify this, try playing any instrument when you're inebriated and I
guarantee you'll think you're ten times faster. I've taped myself playing
what I thought was the coolest shit when I was hosed only to return ten
hours and a hangover later and find I was for all intents and purposes
mimicking Justin Hayward solos.
	On the Birch Hill show:

And still people wonder where those nicknames for the Birch Hell come from.
:P Take it from someone who has seen one too many shows at that club, if
you think something was handled poorly, it was the club's fault and DT
couldn't have helped it.

Christian you are absolutely right. My exposure to that dangerous laser
caused me to shrink to a

OK, there. I've used what profound influence I have left, the plumber
should be arriving shortly, although Australia is a bit far for this trick
to work accurately. But i know for _sure_, somewhere in Australia, someone
is going to get visited by a plumber, sometime very soon. HTH

Hey dudes!
I bought Eloy's new album called 'Ocean II-The Answer' and would
like to tell you about it. But before I continue, I must say that
it's not metal. Instead it's symphonic rock, so if you're not
interested, skip this post.

I'm really excited about this album because Eloy is one of my
favourite bands and they're quite underrated. They're very symphonic
and have always sounded like a 'heavier' Pink Floyd. Guitarrist,
vocalist and main composer, Frank Bornemann, the only member
remaining from the original Eloy, is the soul of this German band,
and he's kept it together all these years, he's seen many
incarnations of this band, and as a result, Eloy has put out many
(excellent) albums, first they were kind of spacey, psychodelic you
could say, and then they turned a bith heavier but with symphonic
layers of keyboards all around. This new album, 'Oceans II-The
Answer', is like something I've never heard before from Eloy: it's
like all their albums put together in one wonderful masterpiece.
It's got everything that Eloy stands for: layers of spacey and
textured keyboards by Michael Gerlach, excellent and tight drumming
from Bodo Schopf (ex-Michael Schenker Group), they've got one of the
best bass players (IMO) in Klaus Peter Matziol and Frank Bornemann
is simply, a true musician. It's not like they all shred or
anything. Their music is well written, has a lot of melody
(incredible melodies on this CD) and it just creates ambience from
the start, with the slow build up of 'Between Future and Past', just
keyboards and guitar, to the grand finale 'The Answer', with full
choir. 'Reflections from the Spheres Beyond', 'Ro Setau', 'Paralysed
Civilization' and 'Awakening of Consciousness' are no doubt the best
songs on this record (um, I should've written all songs for that
matter!), with Klaus Peter Matziol playing bass with such a groove
and his sound is so thick... he's a living proof that you don't have
to shred to kick serious ass, and a dense wall synthesizers
everywhere, you know, REAL sounding keyboards. Production is
excellent throughout the album. Frank Bornemann sings with a bit of
an accent (not much), so this can annoy some of you, but it's fine
with me. People who are interested in old Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd,
Camel, King Crimson, should definitely check this incredibly good
and talented band, and specially, this album. Few would be
disappointed. I would be more than happy to make mp3's of these
(long) songs and pass them over to you if you're interested. Just
e-mail me.

He posted that because we progressed from our perfect pitch discussion to
musical intervals, which brought along the "NBC" gong which just happens
to be a major sixth.  Then I wrote in saying that the reason those notes
are played for NBC is because the owners of NBC were the General Electric
Company, and hence the "GEC" gongs.  So he wrote with this info.  Don't
you read these posts?
